Wow! Thank you! I hardly ever get to Tesco - I wonder if it works online too. I'm a bit confused about it - is it a mistake that Tesco has made or a special promotion or what? That's absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing!

It's a bit of both. The chilli & olives both had SEL's with 10p & 24p on, which is unusual. Sometimes it's a glitch, that only lasts a day or 2, so you need to be quick.

I'm lucky (or some would say unlucky!) as I have a T3sco at the end of my street.

Let us know of any bargains you find, it's good to share!!

I will certainly post if I find any bargains - it's doubtful I will though as I am hardly ever in Tescos so I imagine someone will get there before me!

Hi can I just clarify because its not something I have thought of before, Do you use pre sliced cheese and the whole packet? I have always used grated cheese stilton is surprisingly quiet tasty in lasagne but using slices would save a lot of time and it is not as expensive in Aldi. I will be making this tomorrow as I got a pack of fresh lasagne sheets on offer in Asda at 50p. Was going to do a cannelloni but this sounds a better option. Thank you

Just use enough pre-sliced Emmenthal to cover the top of the sauce, I used kitchen scissors to cut it to fit LOL. Pop the rest in the freezer for next time. I used the Asda 50p sheets as well.
The Aldi Emmenthal and Sundried tomatoes were the cheapest I found,
I've tried the white sauce with both cream cheese and dairylee, I've made it 3 times, the 2nd /3rd time the meat sauce was best as I used the oil from the jar to fry the garlic and onions. I've tried it with both tinned and fresh tomatoes, the fresh tomato sauce was far superior, great if you can find reduced ones like I did.

UPDATE just found sundried tomatoes in olive oil in home bargains for £1 a jar , they had Turkish ones for 89p they looked black so didn't buy them.

    Morning

Just updated signature, spent £2.68 in W**trose on noodles and basmati rice yesterday. We are trying a new recipe tonight with using LO chicken, pesto, creme fraiche and cherry tomatoes, I think I'll serve it with rice. I'm feeling much more in control this month, the children are going back to school tomorrow so hopefully I will get some time to get the house back in to some sort of order - there are toys in every room at the moment! I need to make some cake/biscuits for lunch boxes today and get the uniforms and pe kits ready.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Hi everyone

After some consideration I would like to set my budget for June at £350.00 which is £50 more than last month. Half term, family getting colds and two teenage house guests for a week and my daughter has a food exam means that I would def blow the budget.
So far I have spent £159.38 this month (includes a sack of cat food). I don't feel stocked up at all and to be honest feel a bit fed up with everything.
Rather than give up entirely I am going to give myself a bit of room and still carry on. Hope that I can find some motivation soon.
This thread really does help, thank you.
    Best wishes

Had a quick trip to buy things for kids pack ups. Both had letters in bag re trips this week which we weren't aware of!

Also need tinned toms - can't believe I ran out - normally have a cupboard full and spares in the garage. Change of plan for tea tonight - now shepherds pie instead of chilli.

    Enjoy your day everyone:)

£44 spend yesterday in Morrisons (£10 on nappies which will last ages as I use washables too, needed to get over the £40 for the fuel voucher) went badly as I had DS2 and DD with me, both being difficult. Missed a few things from my list because I was hoping to go to Lidl but didn't make it there so may have to go to Waitrose today as that's near swimming pool.

Silly question time :o If a recipe calls for baking soda (banana bread/cake recipe on index) is it the same as baking powder as that's what I have in?

Have some nanas to use up (seems like a common theme on here at the moment :D)
