Had to buy bread today, so another €2 spend. We had the chicken drumsticks last night from the oven (I had them marinating for BBQ but it rained) and sausages, with salads. We had crab cakes from the freezer for lunch (I had made a large batch a few weeks back) and it's burgers, sausages and chips for dinner ( again, not BBQ weather).
I got enough turnips for a dinner on the plot today, a bulb of garlic, a box of spinach and 2 lettuces. We had 7 strawberries to share last night from the garden, and the spring onions and carrots are ready to eat from the garden too. I should have broad beans from the garden and peas from the plot this week too.
We're working on clearing the freezer and cupboards, and as I am not emigrating, I will take a trip to Sainbugs in the next few weeks and restock everything for the entire summer and beyond.
This week, I think will be:
Tues: Lamb chops, mash and veg of some sort
Wed: Pasta, bacon pieces and tomato sauce
Thurs: Chicken fajitas
Fri: possibly travelling
Sat - MIL feeding us and buying a few bits in farmer's market
Need to go make my salad for tomorrow's lunch, as I am determined to get back to healthy eating again this week. I will probably not stay under for June, but if I can keep reasonably close I will be happy. Actually, the other thing I need to do tonight is use the old bananas and make some muffins (or maybe try out a banana bread recipe for a change).GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

Sorry it's late but please can you put me down for £300 again.
Been away for a few days and had a few small spends but full of good intentions to menu plan tonight. Everything seems to be going up in price even when I try to shop at relatively cheap places - Lidl, aldi and herons. Nearly always fail at the meal planning after a couple of weeks but will do better this month. Everyone on here is so inspiring. :T

Hi all, after a bit of advice...I have just found that I have a pack of 4 chicken breasts in the fridge that should have been used by Jun 4th  (I forgot I got it and thought it was my Mums) anyhow, It doesn't smell or look odd and I have put it in the oven to just roast and thought I could maybe use it tomorrow for a pie for dinner and/or sandwiches etc.(plus dh is going to have some for todays tea)...
Am I ok in doing this? I am really funny with dates and stuff and would usually throw it but it seems such a waste and it has been kept very cold and looks/smells fine....what do you thinkStarting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000 -
