have spent a whopping £125.32 of my £200 budget....on not much at all !!!

spent a huge amount over the weekend, think the warm weather whent to my head:otook the kids for a picnic and swim in the river, then did a small bbq at home, did a mad dash around m'sons for the bits i needed, wasn't organised at all, and that reflects in how much i spent!!!!

£74.68 left for the month, going to have to reign it in a bit i think!!

have taken full advantage of the 50% off at bodyshop (enter SHARE in promo code box at checkout) that's ticked 7 people off my christmas list:jplus a few stocking fillers for the kids, friends kids and my nephew- animal shaped soaps, 5 in a pack, £1.50 using promo code:jtotal spent £41, very happy with that:D

HTH anyone who hasn't seen the offer on main mse:D

    take care peeps:p

wish me luck with keeping the spends under control lol

My online shop was £32.51 this week, including a bottle of wine as a treat. I'm going to make sausage stew from the start of the thread, so that should keep me fed for a couple of nights this week. I'm meant to be making a cheesecake for a work do, however MrT had run out of digestive biscuits and substituted it with Nice biscuits. I'm not sure Nice biscuits are going to make a good cheesecake base :(

Just finished updating my MrS online shop..its my last free delivery so thought I may as well use it....I only shop at Sa!nsbugs online as not one nearby...I do love their basics :D its showing as just under £50 and I shouldn't need much in the way of top ups.... have ordered stuff for the twins zoo trip with school on friday and for pack ups for Chessington on Saturday....dh is away for the weekend at a festival (his first and probably last at 40 :D) so bought a few extras for him to take like chocolate/pot noodle/peanuts etc. thought better me choosing cheapy stuff for him in my shop and saving him a few pennies while he is away....

I am on a pamper day tomorrow at a spa....really looking forward to it,I got the vouchers from groupon (don't know if any of you use them) at christmas for my Mum (me and my sis are going too) it was about £30 for an hour and a half's worth of treatments in London...we are then hoping to have a swim there and go for lunch and a bit of a shop....

hope you are all having a good evening, we have a bottle of wine on the go and having looked at my alcohol budget for so far this month this is something that has to be worked on...

I'm such an idiot - here I am trying to find ways to save every single penny and wondering how I am going to manage when my salary gets cut, and there's a knock on the door and it's a young girl from Marie Curie cancer care. It's such a worthwhile cause and cancer has affected my family very closely to me, so before I know it, I sign up to a direct debit of just under £9 per month. I know it's not a lot and it is a good cause, but I just don't have any spare cash right now but I couldn't say no to her when I was faced with her. So now that's another added pressure to deal with.

I've also been in this position. Got stopped in the street once and made the mistake of signing up. Hard as it is for charities, especially these days, we should only give if we can afford to. So my advice is, cancel the direct debit. You may get a phonecall or a letter from them, but if you are struggling yourself, I'm sure they'll understand.

NSD for me. Managed to stay out of Mr T's!! No glitches for me to take advantage of!! Long may it continue!!

espresso21 I echo what cherrypie has said, If it is going to impact on you then you should cancel the direct debit, they must get that happening a lot as I bet a lot of people feel obliged to sign up on the doorstep..x

Thanks cherry pie and 69chick. I feel bad as I know it's a good cause and I know I would want it for anyone I knew who was suffering from cancer but at the moment every penny really does need to be accounted for. Maybe I will phone tomorrow and cancel. I'm going to feel like a real rotten person doing it though. I do make a tiny donation to Macmillan every month and am doing my best to keep that going (it's only a couple of pounds a week) so maybe that can be considered as doing my bit. Thanks for the advice and for not making me feel too bad about it!!

I have had another nsd today. I used to resent these as I'm a bit of a compulsive shopper, but now I enjoy the challenge and feel like I have really achieved something. It's even the silly things like not buying my normal cup of coffee at the station - that was about £2 per day. Now I take my own in my travel mug....which reminds me I haven't washed it yet tonight!

CherryPie - I had the same thing happen with the NSPCC. A woman rang me, asking for £12 a month, I said no, she said how about a lot less, like £8 (?!?), I said no, she asked me what I would be comfortable with, I said £2. She then said, and I quote "Ok, I'll accept that." WHAT?!! I told her how rude she'd been, and that I already give £15 a month to charities, but still ended up signing up. It's horrible how they make you feel.

GC note, today will be a nsd as I have the children and we're just going to come straight home from work - dd wants to watch tangled again, so need to be home in time for it to finish before 7 so they can get to bed on time!

    Have a good day all,

    morning all

Haven't updated my signature this month but will sit down and add up all my receipts. I know I am on target so there is no big panic. Was in Lidl yesterday and got some dishwasher tablets the W5 which were on offer. They have gorgeous big oranges as well. The fruit is really good quality this week.

    Hope all doing well
