Just updated my signature - £81.61 on a A*da delivery at the weekend (free delivery though!!).
I have a freezer full and cupboards are full so hoping to make this last as long as possible. I do however need to buy some bread today (and also jam as I forgot this on the list!).
I haven't had chance to read all the thread as it moves fast, but hope everyone is managing to stay in budget so far!

It's horrible how they make you feel.
Thats what they are trained to do, put us on a guilt trip, almost everyone has been touched with cancer, so its hard to say no. But sometimes you have to.
I give to charity if I have a bit left over or I get a tip.
I lend money to folk in 3rd World Countries through KIVA . I had £50 I didn't expect to have so donated it to them, Its been lent and paid back over a dozen times now.

As far as I know, all of these people trying to get you to sign up to charities are on commission. That is why they will try every trick in the book.
The charity will actually only get a VERY small percentage of the first years takings.
Say no with a clear concience. If you want to make a donation (and can afford to) do it direct and shun these middle men making a profit on people's guilt
Grocery wise I have not signed up this month but have been doing a mini challenge of using up and spending just £100 for the month (4 adults) It is looking scary! £23.90 left until payday which is not for 2 weeks yet.... trouble is I keep seeing whoopsies which will cut next months bill and it just doesn't seem sensible to pass them by0 -
Food shopping done yesterday. Sharing the love between c0-0p (reduced fruit and fab lollies which mis-scanned - should have been £3 for 2 boxes i.e. 16 lollies but went through as £2.50) f&v shop (cheap strawberries, apricots, spring onions and chocs) and Mr M for main stuff. I have updated signature. I have £100 to last now and 2 more main shops, so the top up shops are going to be reined right in. This should be do-able, tight but do-able.
Re: charities. I have 2 charities that I support in rememberance of relatives. I give directly. There is only so much a person can do. x0 -
Thanks for all the advice on charities. I do give money when I can and in good months I can give a little more, but signing up to a direct debit at the moment would just add more stress. It's a pity, I would dearly love to be able to give them a whopping donation for all the work they do, but the financial reality is that it just doesn't work that way. Maybe one day when I win the lottery!!! Thanks for not making me feel bad about it - I was feeling like a real rotter having to phone and cancel.
On the GC front, I just bought a bagel - I shouldn't have but I have had no breakfast (things were a bit manic this morning and I overslept) and it was only £1.10 and because they couldn't find the right change they gave it to me for £1. So not bad all in all!0 -
Afternoon peeps
i updated my siggy last night but didn`t have time to post, i`ve done a fair few shops and we have lots of food in so i`m hopeful that things will be ok for the month end
Mothership - I made the lasagne recipe that you posted and used the Aldi sun dried toms and emmenthal cheese and it was scrummy! It will be in my list of favourite recipes to cook again. We are big eaters so i cut it into 6 portions to serve with a small side salad but even that was too much - next time i shall cut it into 8. Two portions are now in the freezer for a later date.
Thankyou so much for posting the recipe.
Think i`ll have a quick scan of the coupons thread before i go to work!
Have a good day peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

Spent a naughty 40p on a packet of crisps at work yesterday:o
We are sticking to the meal plan although last nights sausage casserole from a mix I got cheap turned into sausage and mash with veg as we were starving and couldn't wait the hour for the casserole to cook.
DH has texted me complaining that his sandwiches are awful because the bread is stale. Mine were Ok if a bit dry. I only bought the bread on Tuesday and it is still in date. It's Mr S wholemeal. I have not been happy with this bread or their stay fresh stuff lately. Both are really dry and go stale quickly. I am going to have to go up to H0vis or Warburtons but even on offer this works out about £1.10 a loaf compared with 70p for Mr S. An added squeeze on the budget I could do without.:(
Tortollini in tom and basil sauce and garlic bread tonight. I need to do my shopping list tonight for next week. I will be using Mr S as I have a few quid in nectar points I can use to keep the bill down.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
