hope your new chap likes all this effort you are going to;)
Me too -- especially as he was honest enough to inform me yesterday (very uncomfortably, and after telling me that I wasn't gong to like what he was about to say) that he doesn't like grey hair on a female under 60 !!! I had a feeling it was going to be an issue to some degree, as the second day we were chatting he was gob-smacked that I didn't care about my grey - said he didn't know any other female who'd rather be seen with grey hair than in her glasses :rotfl:

If I hadn't had it coloured in the past, wasn't already planning to have it done again for my daughter's wedding, and hadn't just bought some 'rather young' dresses (that will likely get 'mutton dressed as lamb' comments if I wear them with my grey still showing), then he'd have been promptly told to deal with his feelings or take a running jump..... but i actually think I admire his honesty (especially as he was so clearly finding it difficult to tell me)

Promised him I'd think about getting it coloured long before September (my original plan for hen night and wedding), but haven't let on I plan to try doing it at home before he next comes over - and he's not mentioned it at all today ;) TBH, I don't think he'll raise the subject again during the week as I said I wanted time to think about it and look at/price up options.

Hmmm, CW.....what are his views about blokes under 60 having grey hair? Does he use Grecian 2000?

Sounds like you rather like him, and accept his honesty in the right spirit, but....warning bells ringing here!

Hope I am barking up the wrong tree but go easy, flower, I would hate to see you get hurt.

Hmm I'm not doing too well this month. Think I need to sort my own NSD criteria for what counts and what doesn't. I will try and post more often, I tend to just read what others have written :)

8 NSD's so far....Take That concert on Tues so that will be spendy, but who cares?! It's Take That!

Have been helping friend's move house so yesterday was NSD 14 as they bought my dinner. :D Today though I had to pick up some milk and stuff to see me through the week.

Likely to make the grand total of £8.22 on eBay and will have the joys of parcelling them all up... I really don't like eBaying! (Well, selling anyway :o.)

don't worry, that's exactly why I said I'd think about it - and I've had a lot of comments on another forum about 'control freak' and such. but the way he was squirming (and finding it hard to look at me) while he was saying it makes me pretty sure he didn't find it easy to say, so I can't help respecting him for having done so...... it would have been so easy for him to drop hints, and then just drop all contact if I didn't pick up on them (or picked them up and didn't act on them 'cos I didn't realise how big a deal it is for him).

I slept on it and spent a fair bit of time this morning thinking about it, but am satisfied there are enough reasons for me to want to do it.... I do like the look of it when it's been done (and it always feels a lot softer), but the time and cost involved in going to the hairdressers has always put me off (something I'd mentioned on the second day of chatting, and which I think brought on the "if I thought you'd accept I'd offer to pay for it to be done" I got yesterday - he's clearly picked up I'm far too stubbon and independant to agree to that as he wasn't surprised when I turned the offer down without even thinking about it). But I've never had the confidence to try doing it myself, so perhaps this is the nudge I needed :)

I've had various comments from real-life friends, my daughter and work colleagues about my grey over the last few years - especially at work last year firstly when I had it coloured in the March (about how good it looked) and then about the fact I wasn't having it touched up when it became obvious I was just going to let it grow out - so he's not the only person to think I should maybe get it done on a more regular basis than every 18-24 months ;)

I was quizzing my daughter before I went to the shops about how she does her own and picks out which to use (didn't tell her about last night's conversation), and she sounded quite impressed I was thinking about giving it a go - although she did stop short of saying 'and about time too' :rotfl:

....to get him some eye drops, ones he normally gets are £3-£4 but I popper into Sav*rs and got another brand (which do the same thing) for £1 :j (again) warmish used t-bags are wonderful for eyes; seem to act a bit like a poltice & draw out all sorts of muck....resisted getting plant ties as I remembered I had some cable ties that will do the job (some people do say they aren't good for plants but tbh they are made of the same thing as the plant ties?) My aunt & uncloe were marvellous gardners & used old tights or washing up gloves, cut into strips, as plant ties & they never had bruised stems etc
How's Hubbs? Apparently--according to our drs surgery--this year has been the worst for people developing hayfever for the first time, & long time sufferers really feeling it :(

I was going to suggest asking your daughter to help you out. Then again, my mum asked me if I thought I could do a home perm...I've been blessed with Dad's family genes of gloriously wavy hair & the most I've ever had done, are two shampoo & sets for when I was a bridesmaid & for my own wedding. Don't think I'm going to be of much use somehow :rotfl:

Unfortunately not really a viable option, as that would mean an 80+ mile round trip (meaning about £12-13 worth of liquid gold plus wear and tear to the car), and in order to do it without my GDs underfoot I'd have to be driving there in commuter traffic (so even more liquid gold) in order to arrive as my GDs had been dropped at school - any later and I'd be pushing it to get back home for a 1pm start at work !!!! I did consider it for a short while, but decided it's probably worth having a bash on my own as I'll have to do it alone in the long term :)

Did also consider making my chap help out as he's so keen for me to do it :rotfl:

I've been colouring my hair for the past 2-3 years, Cheryl, never having done it before, and it's really easy. The new colours are incredibly easy to use, just be careful not to get the mix on tiles and good towels. They wash off basins and baths with just cold water. I started off by using vaseline around the hairline and over my ears but you don't even need that nowadays, the colour doesn't permanently stain skin.

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and do a skin test first and you'll be fine.

    Good luck
