Keep getting a pop up to update to Firefox 4, am using Firefox 3.6.17.

Am wondering if it is worth it, i.e. is it free from bugs etc?
I am happy with version 3.6.17, and am not one for change unless positively required.

What are the changes they have made and will it affect anything I have now like bookmarks for example or any other odd features that usually appear on updates?

    Definitely worth updating now.

All the initial problems people had are no longer, & it's significantly faster. You'll have to change things around to your liking - anything you don't like, there's likely to be a 'fix' for it.

Might be worthwhile to backup bookmarks & passwords, and make a new profile - can make quite a big difference. I use the 'password exporter' add-on for passwords, and the standard Organise bookmarks menu for bookmark export.

Give the portable version a go if you aren't sure:

So far FF4 has been good, the layout is slightly different and does take a little time to get used to it. I upgraded from 3.6.x to 4 (4.01 currently) and my bookmarks are still in place but I would suggest to back them up before you do the upgrade to be on the safe side.
There are some nice features that FF3.x doesn't have

Had no problems with any flavours of FF4 . . updated to FF5 (beta) last week and it's running well.

Having backed-up my profile I used the import wizard initially and found the Bookmarks particularly "buggy" and rather off-pi55ing. Deleted the automatically imported profile and copied my profile file across and updated the profiles.ini file manually to read the "new" profile. I've had no issues since.

It is definitely faster and whilst the layout is different you can use the "customise" option to rearrange it to what suits you. I've had no other issues since installing even at the point where others were reporting a memory leak I was unable to reproduce it.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

As I said in my OP, I am not one for change unless absolutely necessary.

I have downloaded this and had a look at the "getting to know Firefox 4", it won't allow me to do the first task I wanted, which was to import my bookmarks, only giving one choice to import from IE, how would I import my Firefox bookmarks?

I am happy with the 3.6.17 version, am I alright to continue with this? as I feel that, being a bit of a technophobe, I will end up getting all messed up, or will 3.6.17, end up being "discontinued"?
