The fox for me, is chrome any good?

I prefer Chrome to FF and it seems to be a lot quicker. However, it doesn't seem to like Facebook at the moment for some reason. Opera is also a good alternative now...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I don't like programs that install themselves without your explicit instructions. It's frequently bundled with other programs, and hopes for a moment of inattention to trick you into accepting it. Once on, it automatically takes over as the main browser, and doesn't restore your preferences even after you uninstall it.
If you've ever uninstalled it, but still have the Google Update service running (check with Start > Run> services.msc), then Chrome has been reported in the past to automatically reinstall itself without notice or permission.
This is one of the reasons you need to put less experienced users on a limited user access account, as they'll inevitably install Chrome by accident.
This puts it in the same category as the Ask Toolbar.
As a browser, it's generally quite fast and stays up to date better than the others with guarding against security exploits. It doesn't have the ability to customise it to the same extent as Firefox does. It's not as fast as Opera, and the 2D hardware acceleration is far inferior to that of IE or Firefox 4.0 -
Can't say I've ever noticed it asking to be installed as part of another program. Google toolbar maybe, but not Chrome...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Hmm...that's odd. I only reinstalled Skype and Avast (along with pretty much everything else I had on my puter before the hard-drive gave up on me) earlier this week and I didn't see an option for chrome to be installed? Unless it doesn't show up if you already have Chrome installed? (I run the latest release and Canary versions, not sure if that will affect it?)If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
