Hi buddiebabe. I was away this week so I've only just seen your post. Sorry to hear you are so tired and discouraged.

Trying to clear out your house has been a regular theme for a long time. It's obviously something you struggle with. I wondered if you have a friend you could ask to come round and help with it - turn it into a sociable activity rather than a lonely chore. And it would be easier for someone else to make choices about what to get rid of and what to keep, as they wouldn't know the history and context of each item!

Just an idea so feel free to ignore it!

Have the budgets changed at all now you are married?

    Hey

Not been around much lately.... not really been able to face up to the debt situation or anything else. I've just been working with one day off every 2 weeks trying to take any extra hours that i can. Here is the position as it stands at 1st November 2011:

    LOANS:

    RBS LOAN £2761.44 now £2510.40

    CREDIT CARDS:

    RBS M/C 1 £9544.00 now £9480.00
    RBS M/C 2 £5955.00 now £5937.51
    DEBENHAMS £1095.00 now £1080.00
    MBNA £3528.00 now £3492.72

    TESCO £2040.00 now £2390.00
    SANTANDER £370.00 now £365.30

    OH:

    GAS BILL £70.00 now £50.00
    CAR INSURANCE £100.00 no change

    WEDDING FUND £190.00 now £260.00

    TOTALS:

    LOANS £2761.44 now £2510.40
    CREDIT CARDS £22532.00 now £22745.53
    OH £170.00 now £150.00
WEDDING PRESSIE FUND £190.00 now £260.00

TOTAL DEBT OUTSTANDING £25873.20 now £25653.44

Total paid off in October -£12.59 :(

Total paid off since 01.06.11 £2916.30

Ok so it's an increase but its only an increase of £12.59 it could have been much worse! Im going to blame it on the house insurance as we didn't have any savings put aside for this, also it was the first month that the mortgage payments started up again after i had taken a 3 month break from them.

Its not the end of the world.

Seaxwyn the budgets haven't really changed since we got married the only difference being is that my OH now gives me an extra £30 towards his share of future payments on all the savings we are going to put away so we shouldn't come accross unexpected bills.... obviously we wont be able to cater for every eventuallity but we can start to try and save for the expected items.

So this is how things stand saving wise at the 1st November 2011:

    Joint savings with OH

    Car:
    Road Tax £17.00
    MOT £8.00
    Repairs £16.00
    Car Insurance £35.00

    Car Total £76.00

    House:
    Insurance £20.00
    Gas £40.00
    Factors £8.00
    TV Licence £0.00

    House Total £68.00

    Occasions:
    Asda (xmas) £8.00
    Park (xmas) £8.00
    Park (hamper) £0.00
    Morrisons £8.00
    Sisters 30th £8.00
    OHs Sisters Wedding Present £8.00
    OHs Sisters W Accomodation £16.00
    OHs Sisters W Outfits £16.00

    Occasions Total £72.00

    My savings:

    OH Birthday £7.00
    Other Birthdays £3.26
    Hen night 1 £2.70
    Hen night 2 £2.70
Works xmas account £25.16 now £75.16
    Morrisons Stamps £1.00
    Vouchers £5.00 Boots, £55.00 M & S, £45.00 Love to Shop, £10.00 Morrisons (my xmas vouchers arrived)

So we have at least started to make some savings for things we will need to pay... only problem is things like car repairs we have no control over when they will be needed or how much they will be. This is where the remaining wedding fund money is going to come in handy to tide us over when we are struggling to pay these, however we are going to pay them back which will add to my debt total but if we don't pay them back then we won't have the buffer if we do actually need it.

We still have to pay for our photo's out of that money and they are amazing and i want them all but i know we cannot afford to get all of them luckily the photographer isn't in any rush for us to place an order we have to take our time and decide what it is we want so we don't need to rush. I don't want to spend more than £500 on them (we have got this money set aside) but my fear is that something will crop up and we will need to use this money for that.

My car is back in the garage today as the exhaust is hanging on by a thread and making a sound that any good boy racer would be proud of so that is one thing we don't have excess cash to spend on. We only have £16.00 in the car repairs pot so the wedding pressie money will have to be dipped into again.... just keep your fingers crossed its not going to be by too much!

I have paid all the bills that have come in this month. Im still waiting for my 2 RBS credit cards, Debenhams and Santander so i still have quite a bit of money to fork out this month.... well i should say find this month so here's hoping that i can do this!

Am going to go for now and try and sort out what i have still got to do and how much everything is going to cost so i can figure out if i can pay all the bills this month :o

Will try and update again soon

I know posting twice in one day!!! whats that all about???

I have worked out what i have available to spend and i now have £40 left in my purse and am due to get another £40 today which will be used for petrol.

I have put aside money for the bills i need to pay:

RBS MC1 £222 (in the bank) which means i can't touch my bank account
RBS MC2 £130 (in an envelope) i never usually pay this until the following month so being able to have the cash this month will mean less of a strain next month (i hope!)
    DEBENHAMS £35 (in an envelope)
    SANTANDER £10 (in an envelope)

I also have the money in the bank to pay the rest of the direct debits and standing orders due out before the end of the month and also the money in the bank for the mortgage.

Things don't seem as bad as i first thought although i do have a horrible feeling that im missing something or forgetting about something.

I've got a few direct debits that are due out in the first few days of next month but i have a wage to get from my 2nd job next week and then i get paid again on the 2nd so am hoping this will be enough to cover these.... i will save the money for them off next weeks wage to be sure tho!

I've had no word about the car yet so am hoping no news is good news!

I really want to get my wedding dress dry cleaned and stored properly as i have decided that i do want to keep it. It is quite badly marked and there is nowhere local that cleans them so am thinking about one of the companies on the internet but to have it cleaned and boxed up am looking at about £150 to £200 which i really can't justify but if i don't get it done soon its going to end up ruined.

Am thinking about asking OH if he will let me use some of the wedding present money to pay for it on the condition that i pay it back (with xmas and birthday money) and also any money i have extra from ebay (when i can be bothered to start selling again) will think about this some more before i make any big decision.... it will all depend on how much the car is.

Will do a bit more research online to see if i can bring the cost down.

Dress update! It is being picked up on Monday along with my sisters bridesmaids dress to be cleaned. My dress will be cleaned and boxed, the other will just be cleaned for a grand total of £200 :eek::eek::eek::eek:

My OH has put it on his credit card and i can pay him back.... my mum owes me some money so am going to put this towards paying it back... am keeping it separate from the debt as its not a debt as such as OH will pay his credit card off in full and i will give him the money. I will keep a running total of this on the diary too but not included in the debts. The only reason i've agreed to this is that he is adamant he does not want me to sell it (i was thinking about it) but he doesn't want to so it will be cleaned and stored.

    So dress money outstanding £200.00

Going to take a walk into town to go to the bank and pay some bills and go to the garage and see about the car

Hey Buddiebabe - glad to see you back. Good news on the car. I kept my wedding dress just hanging in the wardrobe in a cleaners bag - it doesn't fit me any more :(

    Hey

I know mine won't fit me either MrsP i've put on over a stone since the wedding  but i am trying to loose it now.

Why is it that when you think things are going ok... not great but ok.... something has to just crop up!!!

We have always had damp and mould in our house and we do clean it and move around the furniture but over the weekend the smell was really annoying me so when i finished work on Sunday we decided to make a start cleaning up as my OH had said one of his t-shirts had mould on it.

We pulled out the furniture and low and behold it was covered in damp  Now we only got some new chest of drawers earlier this year they were no too bad but we had done everything right, kept them off the wall and not too full put the sachets in them to stop damp but no didn't work. Phoned my dad and asked him what i should do and he advised me to lift the carpet in the corner and see what it was like under it. Anyway i lift the carpet and the smell was unbearable. The underlay was soaking, the gripper track was black and soft and the floorboards are all water stained :eek::eek:

So last night was a bit of a blur felt constantly sick and couldn't stop sneezing and coughing. I had some allergy tests done last year and im allergic to dust and mould so that explains why im always sick!!! I didn't get much sleep last night, maybe 2 hours in total and took the day off today as an emergency holiday (i now only have one more day left to do me to the end of the year) :o

I phoned the factor of the building who said they would get someone out to look at it. So i spent the day moving things and clearing out. Our black bin was emptied last night and is full again now (doesnt get emptied for 2 weeks now) there were 4 bedside table size chest of drawers all of which have been broken up and taken to the tip. There was a wardrobe which has been broken up and taken to the tip so we now have no where to hang up our clothes!

I can't take any more time off my work so my dad will come round and wait for the builder to come see it 2moro and hopefully he will know what the guy is talking about cause i don't have a clue! Once he gives us an indication of what is wrong i will need to contact my insurance company and see if any of it is covered.

Why is it you take one step forward and 300 back.... that's what it feels like at the moment. I feel so ill, my face is all swollen, my lips and eyes feel like someone is sticking pins in them and im shattered but will struggle to sleep as the room still has a horrible smell.

Am going to try and get some sleep and will update when i can with whatever news i get.

That's horrible about the mould - but good that you know what the problem is. Let's hope the insurance will cover it. It's good to know that once the mould is gone (easier said than done I know) you will have much better health.
