That's actually a good amount paid off this month. Mainly due to the fact that i havent been paying my mortgage for the last 2 months i needed to pay the money back for the wedding so asked for a payment holiday, although i've been saving £400 per month iv not actually had that money spare every month which isn't good and if im honest iv no idea how im going to manage when the payments are due again in November.

I hope you are both well. Im stressing with the wedding and am still awaiting RSVPs which is driving me to distraction.... its only 2 weeks until the wedding and i need to know if people are coming!

I've been posting more on the wedding board at the moment but in a few weeks (well after the wedding) i'll end up back over here again.... im actually looking forward to getting back into the money saving instead of money spending!!

Better get to bed am back at work 2moro (only 7 days at full time work until wedding) and 9 days at the shop am not off until the Wednesday before the wedding so today was my last day of actually getting anything done.

  • Hey

That's me back!!! Am now a married woman :j we had such a great day the sun shone from the minute i got up and it was amazing.

Anyway i have now got to face the reality of the financial postition that i am starting married life in.

So here goes, im not going to have any money to pay anything else before the 1st October so here is the current debt position:

    LOANS:

    RBS LOAN £3012.48 now £2761.44

    CREDIT CARDS:

    RBS M/C 1 £9600.00 now £9544.00
    RBS M/C 2 £5981.25 now £5955.00
    DEBENHAMS £1100.00 now £1095.00

    MBNA £3563.94 now £3528.00
    TESCO £2060.53 now £2040.00
    SANTANDER £375.00 now £370.00

    OH:

    GAS BILL £70.00 no change
    CAR INSURANCE £100.00 no change

WEDDING FUND £NIL now repayments to wedding pressie fund £190.00

    TOTALS:

    LOANS £3012.48 now £2761.44
    CREDIT CARDS £22690.72 now £22532.00
    OH £170.00 no change
WEDDING PRESSIE FUND £NIL now £190.00

TOTAL DEBT OUTSTANDING £25873.20 now £25653.44

Total paid off in September £219.76 :j

Total paid off since 01.06.11 £2928.89

Well its not a great amount but every spare penny this month went towards the wedding day and the honeymoon after it. We even decided to take money out the pressie fund to spend while we were away and have made the concious decision that we are not going to pay any of it back. The wedding pressie fund amount of £190.00 is to pay for the road tax for the car and also the repairs that were done before we went away so we have decided that we are both going to pay this back so that we will have £1500 in our wedding account that we will keep at the moment.

Now before anyone says anything we will not be using this to repay my debts.... its already been discussed and its not going to happen.

I had taken a payment holiday on my mortgage for 3 months and i have to start paying this again on the 1st November so i do have a few weeks to try and find this money!!! If i had had to pay it over the last 2 months i would have been really struggling. Im going to have to try to come up with ways to make my money go further and to really cut back on everything. I would like this debt paid off asap but its going to be a struggle.

At the moment my DFD is sitting at August 2015 which is 47 months away which is not really that long but im 33 just now and by then i will be 37 and i think thats a bit late for us to be starting a family. So the debt really needs to be gone sooner. We are not going to start trying for a family straight away but possibly next year would be an option.... although i know it won't happen straight away knowing my luck it would and i wont be ready either financially or with this house.

The house is another of my bug bears at the moment. It is such a mess.... managed to get rid of alot of stuff just before the wedding but have so much more to get rid of and we also got alot of presents which have taken up the space of the pre wedding stuff!

We do have a new washing machine, toaster, microwave and chest freezer :j:j we didnt really have room for the chest freezer but i really wanted one so that i can stock up on all the good offers that are on and also start to cook from scratch.

The old washing machine was taken away when the new one was delivered, the old toaster was only fit for the bin.... there was a time i would have kept hold of it just incase but my one bedroom flat just isn't big enough!!! The old microwave is going to my mums so it will have a new home. We also got a really good dinner set (too good to use) and a day to day dinner set so will need to go through the old stuff and get rid of as much as possible. I have already managed to fill our recycling bin and the black bin (and that of a neighbours) also gave a big bag of stuff to the charity shop yesterday and i really should get up and get started again today but not really in the mood at the moment.

I only have today and 2moro and then am back at both jobs on Thursday which am not looking forward too but i just have to get on with it so i would like to get as much done today as possible.

Just need to find the motivation!!!

Am going to head over to the old style board to read up on what i need to do to save as much money as possible on the food front....

    Thanks for reading

    Hey

Thanks for all the kind wishes...

The wedding was great but im really starting to feel the depressing effects of the not having a wedding to plan and that one special day to look forward to.... i've spent a few days in tears and in general just felt really low. Im trying to get myself out of it by trying to be more cheerful and look at the positives I have spent the best part of 2 years planning and saving for that one day and now its over i just feel at a loss. I cant actually believe i've been married for 2 weeks now and its supposed to be a really happy time but im struggling :(

Im trying to focus on the debts and saving all the money i can so that we will be able to pay all the bills that are coming in. The house insurance is due this month and we don't have the money saved to pay for it so we will be resorting to using the present money again to pay for it and then that will be something else we will need to pay back... its never ending.

We have made the decision that we are going to start saving for the following:

Car - MOT, Insurance, Road Tax and Repairs
House - Gas Bill, Insurance, Factors charge, TV Licence
Occasions - OH sisters wedding (present, accommodation and outfits) My sisters 30th birthday and Xmas (in the form of vouchers from park hampers and morrisons savings stamps)

On top of this i am going to be making my own savings for the following:

    - OHs 30th Birthday
    - OHs sister and partners hen nights (they both want individual hen nights and not joint ones!! I know i will be expected to go to both so need to factor this cost in somewhere!)
    - Other Birthdays
    - Xmas (morrisons savings stamps, vouchers from surveys and newspaper token collect i.e. sun perks)

Its going to take some doing to manage to do any of this and pay off my debt but as long as i keep plodding along at the debt and don't fritter my money away needlessly on rubbish i should be able to do it.

My mum is always buying me newspapers to collect for vouchers and lunch when im at work now i've told her i don't want them unless she is willing to take the money for them but she always refuses. I know she is not in a financial position to be buying me these things but she won't take the money. I have decided that i will now start putting the money away in an account i have at work and she will get the money at christmas, i've told her im going to do this and she says she won't take the money..... so she will just get an extra special xmas and birthday present if she doesn't take the money!

So this is how things stand saving wise at the moment:

Joint savings with OH - Nothing.... we are only going to start this on Thursday

    My savings:

    OH Birthday £7.00
    Other Birthdays £3.26
    Hen night 1 £2.70
    Hen night 2 £2.70
    Works xmas account £25.16
    Morrisons Stamps £1.00
    Vouchers £5.00 Boots, £5.00 M & S, £5.00 Love to Shop, £10.00 Morrisons

I know its not that much but its a start and even if i only manage £1 between them all a week at least im putting something away.

I just don't want to have to resort to using the credit card when i don't need to.

I need to figure out where im actually going to put the money at the moment its in separate boxes in the house but it will end up getting spent if i don't put it away somewhere safe.

I have 3 accounts i don't really use so i will probably start to use one for my OHs birthday one for the hen nights and the other for other birthdays (when i can find the passbook for it :o)

Going to see if i can find any coppers lying around that i can put in one of the boxes

    Hey

Just thought id drop in to say things aren't much better.... we had a factors bill in and the house insurance is due this week  both have had to come out of the present money but both will be paid back.... when i have no idea but it will happen!

I've been working constantly full time at my main job and going in a bit early so i can try and save a bit of time for a day off and working most full weekends and 4 nights in 2nd job. I've had one full day off this month and it was spent lying on the couch cause i felt rubbish! Im working again today but am off next Sunday so am just trying to keep going until then.

Everything in the house is a mess cause all i feel like doing when i get home from work is sitting down having dinner then going to bed then its up to start it all over again in the morning!

We have so much stuff in this house that i just want gone but i don't even have the time or motivation to do it.... i hate living like this its so depressing. Its free listing on ebay this weekend but i can't even take advantage of it as i can't find my digital camera in this mess or my scales and i wouldnt even know where to start looking!! I have re-listed the items that havent sold in the past so they are on at least. I really need to get back into ebaying but everything is a struggle at the moment :( one day am hoping things will just click and i'll find some energy and motivation from somewhere!

Going to have a coffee and catch up on my emails and bills before work will update sometime just not sure when
