Lol at Lion, witch and wardrobe. I'd LOVE to meet you two and if all this work malarkey happens then I'll be down south for about a month training from the middle of next month. I wont be where you are exactly, but it's easy enough to hop on a train!

    Have been doing some serious pondering about my weight - prompted by 3 things;
    • found a document on my lappie, dated November 2009, detailing a plan to lose half a stone. I didn't stick to it! But my start weight was 7lbs LESS than I am now!
    • the post I pinched from Buffy's thread about reasons to lose weight - all of which apply to me!
    • a quote from Grazia which says 'the most successful diet is the one you don't know you're on'
I've been really thinking about it and I've realised that diets really don't work for me! I go all out, stick to it for a few days, lose a couple of pounds, break the diet, go mad and put it back on again - I've just done this with my 2lb Slim Fast loss - which I have put back on! :o

This is the new plan - I am not on a diet but I eat well :D Nothing is banned, I can eat cake and chocolate but I don't have to stuff my face because I am allowed to have it. I stick to sensible, healthly, filling meals which mean I do't need extra snacks - but I can have a snack if I want one. Please all nag me to develop this new mind set - don't let me buy Slim Fast, Adios, diet magazines - I've done all of this several times in the past and I am still putting on weight :o

I hope this new, sensible approach will lead to an average 1lb per week weightloss - some weeks will be better than others because I like food and I have a social life that often invloves food! That would be a stone lost by Christmas! ;)

I am aware that the other side of this coin is exercise - am still thinking about that one as my previous plans have been similar to my diet plans - all or nothing, and doomed to failure!

Brilliant weight loss / health strategy.

I hear you on so many aspects of that. My excuse for the extra stone I'm carrying is 'quitting smoking' ... errr that was over 3 years ago now :o

Have a half tin of slimfast in the cupboard & after doing the high protein low carb plan ( on which I lost 8lbs & have since regained 4 of them) I'm right off meat & still pretty much where I started.

I already vowed to myself to lose a stone by christmas but also struggle with exercise. I did enjoy the daily walk when I did it, but time is an issue as always. I will start dong this again, just 20 minutes every day will help.

I totally agree with being allowed treats & my thinking is to allow a treat, but to then reduce the calories in the next meal slightly.

    Let's do it & be FAB :D

I actually feel okay about my weight at the moment but I know that for me I'm going to need to exercise a few times a week for life to keep it steady as I'm short and love food and booze! I just need to eat sensibly and not pig out on loads of carbs when Im rushing about!

Agree with loads of things that Buffy has said, but not about the man and house bit. Losing weight wont get you that if you dont do other stuff too and expecting losing half a stone to make your life perfect is just setting yourself up for misery! Sorry Buffy, just being honest!

If you dont feel okay though then you NEED to do something about it honey and yep you're right to go slow and steady if you can and have the time beofre the thing you want to be thinner for.

Re the meet up, as soon as I know what the hecks happening then lets sort something.

I've got a senior dating email too!

Somebody just ran into the back of my car! Not too much damage, it can be driven, but just so inconvenient!

Didn't take this bit too seriously but I know the whole feel better/feel more confident is definately true!

The woman who ran into my car is not answering calls/texts and hasn't given me her insurance details  Hope it doesn't turn into a saga!

Frosted my cake and took some to my Mum's - in exchange for a roast dinner! Now got washing in the machine, have tidied the flat and am deciding what to wear to work tomorrow so I can iron it!

Not achieved everything this weekend but don't feel it's been wasted so happy with that. Am expecting another busy week at work and could end up being quite social too - a couple of possible things pencilled in :)
