driving uninsured - help/advise

Ironic Bradford which Vax mentioned about is the one of the worse places in UK for uninsured drivers 6 out of 10 drivers at one time although I believe it maybe improving

Cant find anything about that case though is it on net Vax0 -
If I'm right, a driver insured fully comp to drive his own car, and third party, a car not owned by him, is not covered to drive a car that is not insured in it's own right,
DEPENDING ON THE COMPANY HE IS INSURED WITH? Maybe even THE NEW LAWS ABOUT INSURANCE?
Sounds to me, like the bank cancelled both insurance direct debits by accident, or misunderstanding the request.0 -
Don't believe anything you read . . .
My car, parked on my drive is a Nissan, it looks like a Nissan, the badge on the front says it's a Nissan . . . my insurance cert, issued last July, says it's a Nissan. It was a Nissan when the police checked my insurance few months ago.
Just checked my own reg number on askmid.com and it's morphed into a . . . Ford Iveco 4910  Agghhhhh . . .0 -

I have been advised by south yorkshire police to check insurance carefully if we want a tp to collect because most companies now exclude cover for vehicles that have been seized.0 -
crazy_house: Don't you have a certificate from Yes Insurance?0
-
The police will only allow release with a certificate with the car registration printed upon it, which they may already have. as no body has informed them it is not valid
The policy has been cancelled. The police will check when you produce not simply accept a certificate that will cover the date of
seizure.0 -

I have 2,
1 from SWINTONS and 1 from YES
The officer advised that he was seizing car due to believing it uninsured, I advised Officer of full details as above and that I had my certificate of motor insurance and as far as I knew I was dual insured.
He still seized car didnt believe me as mid not showing details and told me to make sure the certificate of insurance Ive got valid with the insurer before producing as it a more serioius crime to produce docs that not valid.
I haven't stopped feeling physically ill since this all happened yesterday, I am blind to my rights, what will happen at police station IVE NEVER IN 36YEARS EVEN BEEN INSIDE A POLICE STATION, I always abide by the rules/laws, It very scary & upsetting for me and I dont want to make any thing worse, but on the other had cant wait until Tuesday to be able to talk to my insurer and find out what happening
As far as i was concerned as i keep saying ive got TWO insurer #and insurances.....:(0 -

The fact that what your saying may well be correct and Ive not been notified scare me more than anything.
when I use to work for norwich union (aviva) unless customer was given 7days notice under the road traffic act either verbally or written we didn't have a leg to stand on, but that a good few years back and I am no longer upto date with rules/laws
I pay new insurance then tax may car march/april and dont give it a 2nd thought until mot due in october. Once Ive got this cleared up for the time i use in a week, i will be walking as safer on my health0 -

What part of the Road Traffic Act was that?0 -
What part of the Road Traffic Act was that?
My words may be a little off as it wasd 2008 since a use to repeat it numerous times
its an offense under the road traffic act to fail to return a certificate of motor insurance within 7day and to use a motor vehicle on a public highway without adequate third party insurance.
We had to tell every customer who cancelled or had there insurance cancelled.the date would then be 7days or renewal.0
