    Recordable discs
    • Discs that should or should not be used with this
    recorder:
    DVD-R 8x can be used.
DVD-RW 4x can be used, 6x may result in a Rec
    error.
    • Discs that have been tested and are proven to be
    compatible with this recorder:
    Verbatim DVD-R 8x
    Verbatim DVD-RW 2x

How about these ones from Wilkinsons.
    (Maxell DVD-RW 1-4x 10 pack £5.20)

Asda sell blank media too, maybe worth a look if you have either stores nearby and want the discs today.

I really wanted some today as DS1 is a ball boy and flag waver at the European Cup final at Wembley today. I wanted to record the match to keep. If it is recorded on VHS I then have the problem of trying to get it transfered to DVD.
If you get really stuck, the UK TV torrent sites will carry footage of the game. It looks like FOX TV is broadcasting it as well as ITV1.

I need to record the game off the TV Yep, plays dvds brilliantly. I have managed to record sound but no picture so I must have been able to format (I think)

That sounds like a configuration problem, cabling or some such..

Did you read this on page 14..
    Note
    • Playback picture from DVD cannot be delivered through the Round Coaxial cable.
The Round Coaxial cable is only for sending the antenna signal to the TV.

It might have been put on ebay because it's faulty and won't burn to DVD.. Wouldn't be the first time.. Hope not.

Agreed. If you can record the sound with the DVD discs, then the problem is not with the discs.

    The manual is here

It could be exactly cabling !!!
The dvd recorder is in my back room and is on an extension ariel. I have a splitter in the front room into an ariel booster. From the booster the wire goes under the floor boards to the other room and into a freeview box and from the freeview box to the dvd recorder and onto the tv!!

It records vhs brilliantly so thought that the set up would work the dvd. I can't copy vhs to dvd as there is an error fault that's why I thought it could be the dvd format that was incompatable. Maybe it will not record at all.

Ah well if it won't record dvds I'm still very pleased with it.

    Thanks for all the help

Connect to the Freeview box via Scart lead. What is the error code?

Hi I get the error code when I try to copy vhs to dvd....

I have now got it working!!!!
I have got a lead with a red, white and yellow 'plug' on both ends. I put one end to the tv and the other end in the front of the dvd recorder and it works!!!

Maybe one of my scart leads isn't working properly......

Ok there are a couple of questions now...

Will I get a better picture/ recording if I connect with the red white yellow leads to our HD tv rather than the old Bush tv in the back room?

The dvd are for 120 mins that doesn't leave much space for extra time or the opening ceremony what do I do??

    TIA
