Ebay highest bidder comes from abroad

If this buyer can read English, why not have the decency to ask if I will post abroad as it says UK ONLY quite clearly three times. He is either lacking in the English language, had his Ruud Gullitt barnet covering his eyes or is rude and ignorant.
But it is you in the wrong, the buyer doesn't need to do anything as you have allowed him to bid and pay.
If a listing has big black letters saying UK ONLY, it is useless, as you have found out. It is no different than saying NO RETURN, but then you probably have that too!
You need to set your preferences to preclude countries or to add postage costs. If you don't add postage costs the item shows as free postage in their country.
You may not wish to learn anything, with your vast selling experiences behind you, but you may find yourself on the end of a non performing selling complaint.0 -
Would you personally bid on an item that states, 'UNITED STATES ONLY' for example? (If you lived in the UK) Just a question0

It doesn't matter what a listing says....UK only, no returns, cash only, no paypal.
If you want to sell to the UK only then you need to list it properly.
Do you want to sell internationally or not?0 -
Any chance of answering my question please?0

Can't you read? It doesn't matter what the listing says.
All this fuss.
All you had to do was preclude non UK countries, one tick box!
Or, weigh the item and get the two international prices. Two, only two. For all those countries.
Less time and hassle than any ununforceable terms you choose to include your listing.0 -
I don't really care where I send it but from the postage costs and the UK ONLY it is quite obvious my aim is to send it to somewhere im my own country to save problems like it getting lost it the post (or plane?). However, if someone is willing to send a message out of decency asking if I would send abroad and if so how much extra is the P&P be. Like the seven (I just checked) previous foreign buyers would.0

Why are you not answering my question? If a item says 'United States only' would you do the right thing and ask if they would consider sending to the UK or do the ignorant thing of just buying and paying, no questions asked. I am not a copper, just asking a normal easy answerable question. Why are you ignoring it?0 -

I do not have to answer your question as it is unenforceable, much like your listing. Or don't you get that?
Items show for sale in all countries unless the seller has precluded that country, so why would a buyer need to ask? You listed it for sale to Holland, why should the buyer think you had changed your mind?0 -
If you read a previous post, I said I don't mind posting abroad, if the buyer is polite enough to ask if I will do and how much postage would cost them, which they have done a few times. Is it that hard to understand?
But you stated what the postage charges were in the listing - £1.80 to anywhere in the world it would appear. Why would they need to ask you when they click on the little "See more services" link next to the delivery price or the "or click on the "Postage and Payments" tab at the top of the description, put their country in from the drop down list and it shows £1.80 as it would have done because YOU COCKED UP WHEN LISTING IT?
I don't get people from abroad asking me what delivery is because they do exactly what I've said above.0 -
How much extra is the postage going to be, I think that someone said the other day that something was actually cheaper to Europe than UK, but I may have that wrong.0
