Excuse me? What's your problem?
I don't see what the issue is if the card issuer have purposely submitted the form that they think best. At the end of the day it's them dealing with paypal. Other than submitting the form to the card issuer (where I stated the truth), I have had no involvement and have bot been invited by paypal to comment on the case. My only option on paypal is to cancel the chargeback which I'm not willing to do.
Sorry if you think that's wrong but no need to be such a jumped up tw*t about it.
All through this thread you have talked about being dishonest about it. And many people have taken time to advise you. Then the only thing that you need to do to make sure that it all goes smoothly is to contact your credit card company and Paypal, but you can't even be bothered to do that, because just like this whole thread, you want other people to do your work for you. I mean how long does it take to pick up the phone and call Paypal?
I don't mind helping people to help themselves, or helping people who can't help themselves. But people who are just lazy, and expect other to do all the running around for them are a waste of space.0 -
So you hope the person who deliberately defrauded someone makes a profit at the expense of the innocent person who's being a bit awkward? Odd.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Sorry, but you're completely wrong. I'm sure others will back me up but the service tag identifies the individual machine. You can go to the Dell website, input the service tag and it will tell you exactly what hardware/peripherals were shipped with that specific machine, including any built to order customizations and will tell you exactly what warranty that specific machine has and when that warranty expires.
When you contact Dell Technical Support, you give them a service tag, and they then find out, from that, who the machine belongs to (which is what happened in this case). The Serial Number is never needed with Dell machines.
If the seller didn't steal the laptop, they wouldn't have made out that they'd owned it for months and months when in fact they'd only had it a couple of weeks.
The service tag can be changed if you know what your doing, but I cant imagine anyone capable of that being stupid enough to change it for a stolen laptops service tag...[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Don't twist my words around. You know exactly what I mean.
I hope the theif get's caught, but the OP doesn't deserve to get their money back if they are too lazy to pick up the phone to paypal. But they want forum members to waste their time giving advice.0 -

Who do you hope benefits then? Disgusting attitude.I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -

No, it's the OP who has a disgusting attitude.
Did you read the whole thread??
I hope the person who had their laptop stolen gets it back, and that the person who nicked it and then sold it on gets locked up. As for the OP, they need to get off their backside and do something if they don't want to lose their money, and get rid of their 'it's not my job' attitude.0 -

But if their card issuer is doing a chargeback they will get the money back anyway whatever paypal decide. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

I think you missed my point.
I have had previous experience of how paypal handle chargeback cases, including those initiated through the credit card companies. If you don't give them the exact details, then they don't investigate properly.
There are many technicalities that chargebacks can be thrown out on. So if paypal don't investigate it properly, then there is a chance it could fail.0 -
Sorry you had a point? I can see how I missed it though. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Out of interest did you leave feedback for the laptop before you found out it was stolen?
If so, you should still be able to leave a follow up comment in the feedback telling others you have since found out its a stolen laptop, so others are warned in case she does this again.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
