Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 26th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning Bargainbird and all who follow on,well we had a jolly good downpour yesterday afternoon and evening and the ground just slurped it down ,with luck will shall get some more today.not that I like rain that much, but the gardens and local farmers need it so badly.
School run this morning with the boys then this afternoon my history class, followed by a lymphodema clinic appointment.I don't think the nurse will be a happy bunny as I had to return to the clinic with the new sleeve that was sent to me as it had arrived minus the hand part.If the sleeve stops at my wrist it means that the swelling just gets squashed down into my hand not a good idea.So no doubt she will be on to the makers in Germany to find out what has gone wrong. Another Bank Holiday and this will be the last for several months thank goodness.Boys are on half term next week so not so much rushing around first thing.Mikeys birthday is next wednesday he will be 7 and Henry's is on Friday and he will be 10.They are growing up so fast I swear they grow like weeds.Well time tio get a wriggle on and have a shower and some breakfast Hope you all have a good Friday and get done all you need before the long week-end
Take care and <<hugs>> to those in need

Morning Bargainbird/ HH/ JackieO and all who follow :D

Well, it wasn't a baby cuckoo in my garden yesterday. After googling lots of images I am almost sure now that it was a starling chick. It did look a lot bigger than the parent, and I would never have guessed it was a starling.... looked nothing like one. Ah well, I was so excited for a few hours, and it was lovely to see a chick being fed on my birdfeeder.:D

After all the rain yesterday, I have to get out in the garden and plant peas, more beans and salad.
Also really should get up to the lottie and plant my jerusalem artichokes. The way my tummy is feeling though, I'm not sure. Just want to curl up with a hot water bottle TBH.

I have registered with Nielsen scanning and my scanner is due to come today. I have to be here to sign for it, so I'm really hoping that it comes this morning so that I can take dd2 to nursery.

Have a good day whatever you are up to.

Topsy-Turphy - Fountains Abbey is fab, isn't it? We used to go regularly when I was small. You may find a few little changes.....you don't go in at the corner opposite the carpark anymore, there is a swish visitor centre now ;)
