how did anyone give my wife £20k worth of credit on a card when she was unemployed

i know sum1 that did this and now the wife has full control of the finances (ie, his income as she has none) and he has to wear broken shoes to work (in snow and rain) as they 'cant afford new ones'... yet all she does is spend... spend...spend...Oh but you did, or don't you remember your wedding vows?!
Why is it people seem to think that they can get married but still live like single people? Perhaps if the OP had been more generous with his income and shared it with his wife unconditionally, she would not have resorted to taking out credit cards behind his back and he would have been aware of her overspending a long time before it became a problem...*~* Valued Opinions - £40; Quidco - £92.77; Lightspeed Panel - £40; My Survey - £20; Consumer Pulse - £190; Toluna - £44; Ciao - £42.47; GfK - £50; Pigsback - £20; ABAi - £10; Panelbase - £10.45 ; Grassroots - £50 *~* Blue Text = Account now closed

Do you work for the Official Receivers office?
You sound like the OR that I had - he said the same thing when I dumped £47,000 of credit card debt and walked away clean over 12 months ago.
Now I have no debt, just a £177,000 mortgage in the wife's name and equity of over £100,000. I managed my finances!
What you do not know is that she is currently knocking off the bloke from the OR and is about to sling you out of the house and move him in.0
