Send your questions to Lloyds on PPI

Why is it that these companies who are guilty of mis-selling PPI and who have been ordered to pay it back (and they know who they are) then why aren't they doing it automatically for everyone, why should everyone be forced to go through, what can be for some people, a daunting and stressful complaints/reclaim process at all? After all they have the records that they can check, the same records that they must have to check and provide evidence of when someone submits a claim for a refund of PPI mis-selling. Haven't the banks put us customers through enough by blatantly ripping us all off for many years in the first place?0

I have been with LLOYDS(TSB) for nigh on 32 years, and I have had some considerable problems with LLOYDS and Loans, I have taken out quite a few loans over the years and have paid dearly, as I can imagine a few who replied have done also.
Having topped up my loans over the years and had PPI imposed on me, and also accrued quite sizable bank charges then
if a ruling by the courts has come about that LLOYDS(TSB) and other banks would have pay it back without having to pursue this by using the courts or litigation.
After all when they took our money for the loan DID WE NEED A COURT ORDER so they could take it.
Bottom line is I had to sell mine and my wifes life policies, because I had exceeded my overdraft by £50 (this was 1997) - and the reason I exceeded it - as I discussed with LLOYDS customer services - was I didnt have the money for the medication for my late wife - she died a few months after that - and I incurred so much debt that eventually I had to beg lloyds for a loan - LAST Year I paid it all off - So I wish everyone who has had or still has any outstanding debts to pay it off as soon as possible.
And if that wasnt bad enough, I got a call from the inland revenue the day after my wife died to state that I should reconcile my tax code to a single man. (I had two children at the time)
I swear thats true.....
and one thing thats definately true

As a frst time buyer I was forced into taking out PPI on my mortgage via Lloyds as I was told that if I did not have it I would be refused the mortgage and implied that if I did change my cover my mortgage would be invalid. So not only did I have to have the PPI which was forced upon me but I had to pay a premium for it, I could obtain PPI from other sources for more than half the price which would also cover my loss of salary!!! I have until now been afraid to change the PPI in fear that my mortgage would be invalid!!! I am now in the situation whereby if I stop the PPI with Lloyds and use an alternative I will not be covered for up to 6 months, which in the uncertain climate is a gamble I do not feel comfortable taking. If Lloyds are unable to match deals I have seen elswhere are they going to continue to provide the cover for the 6 month period after I stop using their product? After all if I was afforded the choice at the very begining I would not now have to put my family at risk of having no cover and no home!!!0

I had a mortgage with the Halifax with PPI, I was told to take it out because I had a quadruple heart bypass and a kidney transplant, I am a teacher and would have been paid if I was off work ill. Am I entitled to reclaim this money?0

Lloyds removed my overdraft of £1500 in October 2010 on the date my monthly salary went in to my account causing my mortgage and household debits to go into arrears. It was removed with no notice or word in writing after being a customer with them for 30 years. They also removed £667 from my monthly salary on the 20th of May 2011 for payments of my husbands bank cards, again without any notice and sending my mortgage into arrears again. All of this we believe because we have made PPI claims against Lloyds. I have now switched my account to another bank and will be closing my account with Lloyds in the coming months because of their disgraceful behaviour and lack of interest in my complaint. I will be forwarding my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman and the FSA. My Question is will Lloyds be compensating me for this distruption to my account and the distress it has caused my family? After 30 years loyalty to Lloyds I have recently discovered that their customers and customer service are not a priority!0

I currently have a mortgage with Halifax and recently stopped my `Total Mortgage Protection' policy I had with my mortgage since Feb 2003. It was only recently prior to cancelling my MPI that I notice I would not be entitled to make a claim should i need to as I have Type 1 Diabetes (since 1976). Despite me telling the Mortgage Advisor (Salesman) that I was Diabetic I was still sold the policy. I also noticed that my policy stated that I didn't have any pre-existing medical condition, despite telling the MA that i did. My question is, will I be entitled to a refund as there is no chance of any claim, should I try to make one, being accepted and payed out?0

We were missold PPI by Lloyds TSB, they agreed we had been missold, however they would give us a figure of how much we would be refunded, they provdided us with 2 different equations and told us to work it out. However it wasn't so straight forward because we stuggled to make the loan repayments and ended up following a debt management plan. We are still repaying the loan and have twice asked Lloyds for further information regarding our loan and the PPI but they haven't answered our letters. It is now well over six months since we initially applied for a PPI refund, can we still claim and where do we get a straight answer from please? Thanks0

i was made redundant through ill health in feb 2009, i have a mortage payment protection with the halifax and i made a claim. they sent me a form to get filled in by my doctorand then they stated that i could not claim because i had suffered from asthma all my life and i did not tell them when i took out the protection plan 27 years ago, but they are still taking payments for it every month. i have written to them 4 times but they will not reply. they did not at any time ask me if i suffered from any illness when i took the plan out, and i have never claimed before.0

My question is:- First of all congratulations in being the first major bank to withdraw from the appealing of the Judicial Review, but can you tell us what you are doing to address the retrospective terms now being put on the Lloyds group by the FSA, and of course how this will be dealt with by yourselves for the many thousands of people who have been mis-sold PPI/MPI, do you plan to contact them yourselves, or do you have to claim the mis-sell, and if having to claim yourself is the route to go, what are you planning to do to deal with the rise in claimants.
For info, I have no PPI claim in against Lloyds TSB Group, but I think it's a question worth asking. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
I took out a loan for 5-6 years and it has just finished. At the time, and for most of the loan I have had two part time jobs to make up my income. If I had lost one, my income would have been halved, making it impossible to pay everything. I suspect that I would not have been covered. So should I have been sold the PPI?:D0
