Why is it so difficult to get a response by email giving an update into a current complaint? I emailed anquery over 3 weeks ago and haven't received even an acknowledgement let alone an answer.

Is it Lloyds TSB policy that now you are no longer challenging the result of the judicial review that customer service goes out thenwindow as the whole affair is going to cost so much that a few lost customers makes no difference?

You were quick enough to send me letter telling me my complaint was on hold pending the result of the judicial review. Why has there been no update since your position changed?

(Sorry, not a question for MSE Guy/Lloyds), but the only way I received a response was by sending it to the CEO and copying it each time to the Customer Care Team the same time.

Just wanted to let you know, as this may work for you too, but otherwise hope you get some direct answers soon on all your questions.

Is it possible for executors of an estate to claim back PPI. He was on a pension and seriously ill which ended up being terminal. The cover was not in effect when he died but we have some statements with it on from a few years ago.

Yes you can. You cannot say what was said in the sale of course but if you have other reasons for misselling then you can make a complaint.

Seems the same for others too. You often have to go to the top to get any response to anything.

When banks make a redress why do they only pay 8% statutory interest when so much more has been made on the money that was as some would say, ill gotton in the first place? What about the consequential damages? If someone is paying 20% interest on other credit and banks had blantently missold then they are not put back into the position as if they never had the PPI are they?

Its like getting a mortgage with a larger deposit. The interest rates are better!! It all looked good on paper. Banks made HUGE profits from misselling PPI and yet are arguing the interest they have to pay to consumers for misselling so I have read. I think they are getting away lightly... too lightly in fact.
  • When I first took out a loan in 2004 I was told if I opted for PPI, my application for a loan was more likely to be accepted. Is this true or was I miss sold PPI and therefore have a claim?

PS: This was a conversation so I have no proof of what I was told.

I took out a loan (5000) with lloyds in sept 1999, was told i had to have ppi, the next day, as my partner was unhappy about it, we went to lloyds and was told we had to pay the total of £995 to cancel the ppi if we wanted to cancel the loan which we paid there and then by cheque, can i reclaim this even if the actual loan was only active for 24 hours before it was cancelled
    many thanks
  • Hi,

I took out a small loan with PPI from Lloyds in August 2001 for a period of two years and paid up the final amount early (by a number of months). I was told if I did not use the PPI, I would be entitle to claim back the total amount of PPI paid, against the loan up until its final payment made.

I have questioned Lloyds about this many times and have been told this would be investigated and nothing has ever materialised! However this loan remains on my online account, showing as a nil balance and has never been closed down correctly.

Am I still entitled to claim this money back as promised?

Please offer some advice, thank you!
  • I have had a PPI claim on the table and am using Belmont Thornton to deal with it. They were appointed over 10 months ago and it has only just gone to the FOS. Should I just go directly to the lender, even though they are threatening to sue me for outlays? I have a clear case and no problem proving this. The unwarranted delays are very stressful.

Why are they not providing any update as to how far they are in the backlog of complaints? I would love to know if I am 2, 3 or even 6 months down the list. Even something on the website just saying we are currently looking at complaints logged before XXXX would be sufficient.

I agree with Ian, that we as individuals have a right to know how long Lloyds are going to take to get through thier backlog. We hve recieved letters stating that they are still looking into our claimns but when? do we wait another 4 montsh for a reply and THEN have to take it to the ombudsman? a rough timescale would be appreciated even if it is 6 months at least we will have an idea
