You can put it on standy and it will record fine, powers itself up and then powers down again when recording is finished. Doesn't matter about the epg.0 -

Another bonus with this box (not sure if others do this), is that you can record 2 programs AND watch another at the same time, depending on whether or not it's being transmitted on the same MUX as one of the programs being recorded! This threw me at first but I read up on it.0 -

there is an inbuilt menu function to switch it on and off automatically. It won't affect recordings, it just puts it in standby overnight. If EPG population is an issue set it to switch on 30 minutes before you wake up.0 -

Topuptv is semi-irrelevant now, you need their own PVR not a Humax. Not sure of any channels needing a card and module now0 -

Also, I am not sure if my current aerial on the roof is up to freeview, is there a simple test you can do? or is it a case of buying the box and if it don't work get a new aerial (eep)
Buty a cheap freeview box from Asda/Tesco, test your aerial then take it back.0 -

Using PiP with on on BBC1 and one on Ch5 normally speeds it up somewhat0 -
£170 is a lotttttt for this piece of kit. I think I must be getting tight or poor.
I got a £25 freeview player and a £20 PVR attached to my PC (600GB). Thats a hell of a price difference and I can do exactly the same as You lot do.
If it was £100, I'd think about it.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
