Thats brilliant news, - just remember yes you may have had a break in the job market but look at the positives skills, - time keeping, money management, multi-tasking, - to name but a few. xx

  • The other thing that is always asked is what are your strengths and one weakness. So try and think of something for those, but with the one you name as your weakness, say something like, but I recognise that this is a weakness and have/am taking xyz steps to rectify it so it becomes less of an issue. This shows you are self aware and know your weaknesses but leaves interviewers with a positive feeling because not only did you identify it, but you are actively taking steps to address it.

Another top tip, is try to think of a question to ask interviewers. There is always time at the end and the panel look expectantly at you. My mind always goes blank at this point. But some pre-prepared questions will help - it shows the interviewer that you've thought about the role and the organisation and a part you might play within it. Sometimes, something said in the interview will spark a question for you, but if not my stand by is:
What kind of culture does your office have - is it an open friendly, sharing atmosphere? (No interviewer will tell you its not).

Another tip (last one) is to email the recruiter (if you have their email address) and thank them for their time and that you look forward to hearing from them etc.

I have stopped posting here as I set up a diary, but just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on this board who have made me welcome, have not judged me and offered support and guidance. :T

Anyway it is now 1 month since I had my LBM and it has had its ups and downs and today is one huge up! I had 2 interviews today and at my second interview of the day they offered me the job there and then :j and want me to start asap. Its not quite the salary I wanted, but they have agreed to reduce the hours I work for the same salary and a big bonus is that as a retail company they offer a 15% discount card off all there stores which include groceries, petrol, furniture and household products and also a restaurant and coffee shop.

I would never have even applied for the job without you guys encouraging me and giving me the confidence I needed to go for it. So I think it is party time _party_

    Congratulations!

I know you thought I was being mean when I stated the obvious that you needed to get a job but now that you have one the only way is up and you will be back in the black in no time. Just think that everything you earn is a bonus that can be thrown at the debt.

    Well done!
