there was a knitting pattern showing how to knit a womb
Wait until I tell the DF about that one!! One of the couples lives in the same village and has the same due date as the DF, so I'm sure we'll bump into them again. Bond bond bond, I must be more sociable...
Hypno - you're completely right, it's been a journey alright and the main thanks go out to yourself, KC and pania for kicking me along the way. I was just looking at some photos from over the last few of years (iPhoto is next to my email icon - that's my excuse!) and it has been a bit unreal from time-to-time.
I thought you knew the new plan - buy some 'baby-skis' and get up some mountains!
Seriously though - you're right, a new plan needs to be hatched, otherwise I'll start slipping backwards, and I don't want to go back there...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
I have this wonderful image in my mind of you knitting a womb while you talk about how to cook up placenta for dinner :rotfl:
Thanks KC :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I had to restrain myself from mentioning cooking the placenta and weave your own nappies...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0

Hi Pania - hope all that, ahem, exercising isn't too tiring
I need to call HSBC to set up online banking so that I can withdraw the money I put in there (£40?) to get the quidco cashback ages ago. Still waiting for quite a few quidco's to be paid this month - I think they're going to roll over to November at this rate. I also need to send off some bank details to National Counties BS so I can do a transfer from there (all of £26 I think) - however, I'm all e-statements these days, so it's proving a bit tricky!
Received a £10 JL voucher from valued opinions the other day, so will add that to the Christmas at JL/Waitrose pile which is building up nicely. Got another £10 to come from them once all the pending surveys are paid. I'm ignoring Pigsback nowadays - I've got a £5 in there, but never get any 'free' points any more.
Still racking my brains on how to get rid of the £981 debt (which will become £872 shortly by 'natural' erosion). I've really got my mind set on clearing that before the baby arrives. I'll be due some expenses as I've been doing a lot of driving over the last couple of weeks, so I'll be able to add that to the pot.
Everything ebay-able is either going or gone, but the DF usually keeps that money.
I suppose the big question is: when I get paid next month, I'll technically be able to pay off the debt. However, that will leave me a bit skint (skint and a half!) for the rest of the month. Seeing as it's 0%, is it better to be sensible and pay it off gradually or as a DFW should I get shot of it... to be decided...
Nice, crisp and sunny here, and hopefully another NSD today.

OK - I've made a decision on the outstanding debt - gonna 'stooze' it...
I called Habitat and asked them if they would do a deal if I paid it off early i.e. money now if they round it down a bit. The answer was a flat 'no' as they only do that kind of things for non-0% loans. I thought they might be up for it as it's cash in their account now and not in the future, but I couldn't convince them of the benefit (to them).
So, instead of paying it off now, I've put the £981 into a savings account from which I'll pay the monthly payments, but not touch it for anything else. OK, so it's not exactly going to earn very much interest, but it is cash to me and not to them.
That's it then. All gone. Does that count? Am I DF? (I am in my mind)

Have you put that £981 away now, GTD? If you have, and you're deffo not going to touch it, then *I* would regard you as debt free too! Wow! Congratulations!
