GTD's DFW Diary - Getting Closer to 40...

ooh, hope everything is ok this morning!
And excellent news on getting shot of those credit cards. Personally I would pay the £25 early settlement fee if it gave me the chance of getting debt free sooner, even though the outstanding amount is on 0%. But in any event, being debt free totally by the summer is a fab thought!
I hope the credit cards have been cut up - don't want you running them up again!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good news on the credit cards. Your DFD is getting so close now :T
I'm with Hypno I think I would pay the £25 fee and clear the sofa early but then I am very impatient.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Hey thats great, GTD! I'm with you on the avoiding paying the £25... I'm mean like that!
The low risk stuff - I'm not sure, to be honest. With the NatWest offer, the lowest risk option was to do a share such as Vodafone, which I think Mizmir did, for a loss of 25p on each trade - when you're getting £100, 2 x 25p is fairly minor!
.....I've just deleted a whole lot of stuff, I just can't - it comes too close to advice, and I'd never forgive myself if you went into a trade and lost money because of something I said:money:

Erm, I haven't cut up the cards, but I have hidden them away in a locked drawer just in case - I know I know... emergency use only honestOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -

Thanks doodledoo - hope things are going well for you?
KC - You're right - I should do my own research! And don't worry, I'll only do things that aren't going to lose money, I'm not a gambler. I find that I usually lose when I gamble so I never bother (except with free money!).

I'll put the cards in the freezer - how about that for a compromise? I've already closed one account to avoid temptation.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0

Hmm.....I suppose that will do. But if I catch you spending on anything I consider to be "non-emergency" there will be trouble.........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. OK OK - I'll be good hypno! I couldn't have got here without your wise words and kicks up the b-u-m
Just got my insurance renewal and it has gone up £7/month - so I'm having a quick quidco-based search around to see what can be done.
Hospital visit was good, then went out and bought some more baby-bits. Just having a relaxing afternoon now as it may be a while before we have any more.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
