  • Hehehe - nah, I don't think so... Anyway, there will no longer be enough to pay off sofa once I've paid bills, but not too far off now... soooo close... I'm going to make that my November mission - DFD before the baby's born.

NCT class on Sunday (uh, when clocks go back?) and we've just found out we have to bring food to share??? What's that all about? 3 dishes for 6 to share or something? Nooooo...

I'm an O2 customer, so I thought I'd try that quidco cashback thing for broadband, but its not available in my area. Darn, that looked like a good offer and I think my BT contract is up for renewal - I'll see what I can get out of them instead...

I hope pania isn't making you run too hard hypno?

I think I am running with P tonight, so we shall judge our progress then!

I think the DFD of November will be fab - an excellent start to parenthood. As for NCT classes - be careful, they expect you to become friends for life.......coffee mornings and bring and buy sales for ever. 3 dishes for 6 to share is just the start of it

OH is on o2, so will investigate that broadband thingy......although we are in the back of beyond and most things technocological (!) take a while to reach us, so I doubt it will be available here either.

  • Hope your aches and pains are going, going, gone then... Don't aggravate anything :)

Yes, I'm starting to worry about this NCT malarky - I don't really do these social group things (apart from MSE/DFW of course), I'm a follower of Larry David/Curb Your Enthusiasm in that department...

Good luck with the o2 broadband offer - it takes years for technology to reach us here too!

  • Feels like it has been a week of long days that have gone quickly if you see what I mean.

Found out that I'd misread the loan agreement, and there is no charge for early repayment (which makes sense!), so all I gotta do is find the cash - ain't that always the way...

Pooped, so going off to bed...

  • Up early this morning - thank goodness for the clocks going back, just makes it a bit easier.

Got to get ready for a whole day of NCT - hmmm, will keep an open mind on that, but expecting to be irritated (which tends to make me contrary and annoying). DF is also irked, but then she's having to making the food to share as well.

Arghhh! I don't want to 'bond' with some random people who happen to be having their baby at the same time as us. Grrr - call me a grumpy old man I guess... Think I'll be calling my grumpy old men mates later to discuss.

Anyway, not a very money-saving experience - course fees, food etc etc. I'm calming down now... relax... breathe...

Right - need to get focussed on clearing the sofa loan - think positive and creative! Also, started posting on the MFW board to help pull me forwards; new goals and all that - got to keep dreaming!

I'm sure most of the blokes will be feeling the same way, GTD - there's a few blokes who really take to it, but most are dragged along by Significant Others, don't worry. If you're really lucky, someone will have text alerts for the football!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Early start today - it's foggy and the car is covered in proper ice this morning! Think I'll load the ipod with some stimulating podcasts/audiobooks.

NCT was OK in the end - luckily there were only two other couples, so that meant we didn't have to do any stupid 'games' to get to know each other. I was a bit worried about leaving my car outside the venue, the seats were uncomfortable (especially for the women) and it's just as well the DF made a reasonable amount of 'normal' food, otherwise it would have been muffins, crisps and sausage rolls all round. See, I am getting grumpy in my old age...

And you're right, hypno, there is an element of 'friends for life' in there.

I didn't actually learn that much, which I take to be a good thing in that my preparation by watching those birth/baby tv channels has been worth it. Unlike my investment in watching hours of America's Next Top Model.
(I don't think I'm ever going to make it to the catwalk ;) ) Anyway - to be continued next Sunday...

KC - the only football news I'm interested in is Chelsea losing. It's for a bit of an odd reason (not matched betting), but I'll explain in a pm if you like :) And talking of betting (or not), I put my free bet money (quidco/extrabet) on sports personality of the year...

Anyway, today should be a NSD, so that's good.

Glad that the NCT wasn't too traumatic - I am sure you will bond beautifully with your new "friends".....:D

What are the plans then? Sofa to be paid off, baby to be born soon - everything has come together fantastically! Take yourself back a couple of years and compare then with now, with the things that you have managed to do inbetween (trips away etc) and give yourself a big pat on the back!

As for Americas Next Model..........perhaps next year - gives you something to aim for :rotfl:

Morning! Go on, do a pm to me, I'm curious now!

I'm glad for you too about the NCT. Sounds like a nice little group, potentially. I used to work at HQ back in the 1980s - there was a knitting pattern showing how to knit a womb, seriously! The secretary who worked in that department was Thai, and she had to check out with the native English speakers that it was what she thought it was!
