  • Not much to report. Did a massive clear out of the mysterious cavern under the stairs and found lots of things but nothing worth e-baying. I would have done a carboot but I don't think I'd raise the entry fee. (And it's raining cats, dogs, horses, sheep etc).

Had a letter from Next catalogue for someone using my address. Hopefully a !!!!-up and not a fraudster?! Anyway, a letter has been sent off to resolve.

Got friends coming round this morning, so making sure house is tidy, and we have some food in - eek!

  • One benefit to clearing out the cupboard was finding some 'spare' booze which I have given to our neighbour as he helps us out loads with the gardening. Also poured away a load of booze which means the recycling bin is full of bottles of various spirits - I don't know what the bin-men/neighbours will think is going on...

Found an old drum machine from the mid-eighties that seems to be selling on e-bay, so will list that this week.

Tried pigsback again, but no freebies appearing - is this a credit crunch thing?

    :rotfl: at the C-U-S competition!

 but... GTD..... you poured the booze away? you don't want strangely flavoured desserts? Little shot glasses of weirdly coloured hangover? Of course, with OH unable to partake, its not as much fun. Maybe it was best... I have quite a few bottles myself like that, I really want to find some way of using it rather than throwing it away. Thats possibly why everything in my house is so cluttered!

Well, have a good one - I'm off mystery shopping again today, then working when I get back.

  • Thanks KC - C-U-S - I'll take some pics soon, once I've got the new shelves in :) The reason for the radical de-clutter was so that we've somewhere to put the pram!

Pouring the booze away was like one of the scenes in a movie where someone quits drinking. It was good stuff too but it was never going to get drunk, so it just had to go. Opened a bottle of red wine to celebrate the de-clutteringing but it was off... so opened another. And that was off too... grrr. Luckily had another, so all was OK with the world :)

Hope you have a good mystery shop - and a good day y'all!

  • Productive weekend - storage organised, more baby-stuff organised, getting finances organised... etc etc. All good fun.

I've managed to find a few Quidco 'earners' that I'd missed/ignored - so I should have nearly £100 to come at the end of the month (on a spend of ~£30). Once I've worked out the net profit I'll update my October £10/day challenge - getting back on track with that now.

I've started doing surveys again - got a bit bored doing them as I was always being kicked out, so there should be some cash 'ready' in there too. Hopefully, all of these bits will add up and help make a dent in the debt.

I've had a look through all of our CDs and will start ripping them all to iTunes as a new mini-project (OK, I'm just copying everybody else again).

  • Wow - I've just realised that I've been here for 2 years now.

I'm feeling confident that I can get rid of this debt and achieve my goals. I've just been reading my first few posts, and looking back I've managed to tick off a few things that I wanted back then, including getting in control of my finances. It has been like trying to tame a wild pony at times.

Who would have thought I'd be deciding whether to make a overpayments to my 0% credit cards or put the money in a savings account!? More importantly, buying the ring and having a baby on the way - it's all a bit unbelievable at times. Didn't do so well on the weight front though - still need a plan there.

As Martin says, there isn't a money problem that can't be fixed.

And now it's time for bed :)

  • Good morning hypno! No complaints here, I just don't do enough exercise/eat too much... All my own fault :)
