Hi, you seem to be going great guns so far!
Have you checked out the olympic challenge board for ideas as to how to get loads of wonga? Apart from anything else, we're having a good laugh at the same time as making a few extra pennies!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Thanks hypno. Just reading your sig - impressive debt reduction going on there!
I did dip into the Olympic challenge board, but my mind went a bit numb at thinking of ways of earning more cash, especially to deadlines - is that fear of failure? Then that's most unlike me!!
For reasons I won't go into now, it's difficult for me to earn more than I do at the moment. But a challenge is a challenge - I'll be there!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -

Oo-er!!!!!!!!! i've just seen this thread and am now blushing - nearly choked on my cordial when I saw my name!!!!!!
Good luck with the Olympic Challenge, I dipped into it and back out again, but I reckon you should have a go and beat me to the DFD winning line!!0 -
Thanks OM! I've done it now - signed up for Gold (typically impulsive!). I need to bring my DFD date in a bit anyway as I was recently 38 (yikes!) - Jan 2009 is getting v.close.
You going to dip back in? Hope you had a good christmas/new year? Sounds like your OH is being a bit better?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
So a fear of failure, yet you are going for gold?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Nothing like setting yourself a challenge then!
You can do it, and whatever you get, whether an extra £10, £1000 or £10000 (I wish!) will be money you wouldn't otherwise have had.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Jan 09??Wow - I'd better get my skates on!
Yes, Christmas and New Year was good - quiet, but good. First January ever I'm not dreading the CC bills!
Yes, OH, is a tiny bit better. He still isn't out of the woods with me yet, but he is being a litte bit better than the back end of last year.0 -
No, it started sounding like a fear of failure, which is like a red rag to me hence going for, going for gold...
And I really feel like doing a car boot sale now for some reasonOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
Good stuff OM! I was thinking the same about my CC bills - my dread of the post is dissipating...
Maybe the OH has started reading your thread?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
Wahoo! I won a tenner on one of the pigsback questions! Can you tell that I don't win many competitions
Also, things progressing with the claiming back the charges. Fingers and everything else crossed, a payment should arrive soon.
Really excited about going to Bologna for a long weekend at the end of the month (with the g/f of course!), just hoping the BA cabin crew don't go on strike...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
I haven't spent much this month, so had a mini-splurge this weekend. £22 on a Chinese for Friday night (yum!) and £73.23 on some lovely Waitrose food (£20 of that was wine).
Fantastic! I got a 50 euro note from in-laws for birthday (which was last week) . I call them in-laws, but technically they're not yet of course! That's for our long weekend away at the start of February - to buy some drinks.
Totting up expected extra cash coming in over the next couple of months - £170 from quidco, £10 from pigsback, £10 from VoiceYourOpinion (or whatever it is called), £9.22 from ciao and I'm going to take a kia for a test drive for £20 (though I don't know when I'll get that).
Not wanting to count chickens and all that, but there should also be some dosh from claiming back charges. OH should be getting £1K back from the taxman - wahoo!
I need to update my cc debt figure, but it's not going to change much as I've only been paying the minimum (due to Christmas expenses). I need to throw some more at them to keep on track with my snowballing.
Ideally, I need to get the interest rates right down - a bit nervous about getting rejected though, due to low income. Looking to move soon and don't want to knacker credit rating for mortgage. Time to do some research...
I've worked out that I may get £1K bonus from work. Ideally, I should put it onto the cards to help with the snowballing plan, but it would be nice to build up some savings as an emergency fund. Maybe I've over estimated the amount I can realistically overpay (SOA??!!) but I need to clear my debts by 40...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0
