sooooo, went a bit wild on vista print (though not quite as much as 74jax lol) - got 'save the date' cards (postcards), personalised mug for my maid of honour, personalised note book for my littler birdesmaid and a wedding banner - all free with just postage :) feeling good
now just gotta see is hubby to be likes the save the date designs (he refused to have anything to do with them as they are a 'waste of money',humpf......though technically he is right......!)

Technically though they're not a waste of money, cos they're free. And if you think about it, you'd ordered the other stuff so were already paying postage, all you did was add on an extra freebie so therefore getting your money's worth of the postage :rotfl:

  • off to look at my first venue today :) seeing another in a fortnight, not sureif the gap is too long though.

we are planning on a small wedding ceremony/wedding breakfast in one place then a large night do at another nearer where we live. todays venue you can only have use of the room until 6 so the timings would work quite well. x

How did your first venue go?

    I've been buying.....again.....

I've now got fabric bags for bridesmaid and witnesses and some for those who have done readings and helped in other ways.

I've got personalised mugs for the witnesses and the readings person

I've made a fab banner which is one collage square of loads of photos of my OH with his friends on the left, one collage of me and my friends on the right, and then down the middle in an 'oblongy thing' theres a collage of photos of me and OH together. I'm really quite impressed with this :rotfl: you can tell I need to go back to work!

I've ordered some more personalised Pens too you can never have enough for guests to use :rotfl:

Right that is definitely it for this month's purchases! DEFINITELY.
(I'll just go check ebay one last time though.....)

I'm making a MASSIVE playlist of songs for the wedding - [STRIKE]we've decided to save money by using an Ipod for the disco - so that means we need to provide all the music ourselves![/STRIKE] EDIT: now hiring a DJ after realising (following chats with OH and my mum) how much hassle it would be to run the sound system ourselves on the day - but will still be giving the massiveplaylist to our DJ, so at least my hard work's not been in vain!

I've been keeping a list on my phone of songs that occur to me, but only had about twenty-odd so far. So I googled "party playlist" and found a massive playlist of frequently-requested party songs, copied it into a spreadsheet, and deleted all the ones I didn't like :p I then dug around the internet for playlists of ska, soul, motown etc. for inspiration, and added a few in from those. I've also been listening through my Itunes to find more stuff.

So far the playlist is up to 168 tracks :D I've got a column that indicates whether I already have the mp3 for each track, a column for genre, and a column for speed (slow or fast)... and it's coloured in very nicely too :j

I was also digging around sub500.co.uk today during my lunch hour, and flicking through the list of websites. Previously I've not been that impressed by the offerings (I think I'm a bit bridezilla about photographers) but today I found one who looks brilliant from the website, and offers a great package for less than £500  so I've emailed to ask for a quote :) yay!

I am loving your organisation:) you could ask guests to name a song too, then maybe have a list of songs and who requested them. I love the sorting stuff out.

I ordered some wine charm stuff yesterday to make them for the bridal party. I am off sick at the moment and it is the little things that excite me :A:rotfl:

Ooh, I hadn't thought about getting song suggestions from guests - that's a great idea! We've got a private group page set up on Facebook for everyone so I shall ask for suggestions on there I think :) yay!

Your wine charms sound fab! Was it you who posted pics of charms in another thread, or was that someone else?
