Wednesday 25th May - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D
Goooood morning and a very happy hump day to you all:j:j
So, no work today for me but I am off to college - might be an all-dayer:eek: How will I manage?!:rotfl:
So, not an NSD - I'll buy a sarnie in T's and cuppa at college to keep me going.
Off to doc for my bloods to be done yet again...oh joy.
Right, must get my face on:D
List:
Have a great day:beer:

Morning all
Thanks for starting us off pixie
I haven't been around for a few days because it's been hectic here, mostly because of the cat having had his op last week. Never ones to do things normally, the cat proceeded to be hyper instead of sleepy for two days after the op - the vet said he's never come across anything quite like it. Hyper and in pain. Sleep, what's that? I can't quite remember
He's doing much better now, but it was very upsetting to see him struggle so much initially. The bill was brutal for our current finances (over £800), but we managed (just) - feel so much more in control of the pennies now, even if the unexpected arises.
We did also get a financial break, because OH was recently awarded the higher rate of DLA mobility, and as the car is used principally for his purposes, we now don't have to pay road tax (small hurrah there after the vet bill!).
Yesterday I had the most brilliant MSE day ever, I think! My elderly neighbour asked me, ages ago, if I would go to the Chelsea Flower Show with her, as her carer (she needed to use a wheelchair for chunks of the day and needed a pusher). So, my ticket was free, we took packed lunches and snacks, and had a lift there and back from friends, who were also going. I spent not a single penny all day. We had a lovely time - very tiring (we left home at 6 a.m.) but worth every minute. I'd never been to the show before, and I could never justify going on our current budget, so I'm really grateful for the opportunity
And now back down to earth with a list for the day:- checked banking - hanging on in there
- check for surveys
- bake bread
- lunch on leftovers
- v. quick dinner from stores/menu
- laundry will be going out on line
- clean up all the cats' bits
- hopefully a NSD today
- make soup/quiche for tomorrow's lunches
Hope everyone has a good Wednesday

I've now finally got one bid on one of my items on eBay, only £4.50 but that's £4.50 I didn't have before! All 5 items finish tonight so may have to relist some
Onto my list today:
[STRIKE]1. Breakfast from home[/STRIKE] eaten
[STRIKE]2. Lunch from home[/STRIKE] eaten
[STRIKE]3. Dinner from stores[/STRIKE] made surprisingly good concoction - 3 portions, 1 eaten tonight with linguine
[STRIKE]4. Check surveys[/STRIKE] none new today - received Clicker for Shop and Scan though!
[STRIKE]5. Check emails[/STRIKE] nothing terribly exciting
6. Put washing away that I still didn't yesterday!
[STRIKE]7. Buy bare essentials to tide me over grocery wise - milk, tomatoes definitely[/STRIKE] bought! plus red onions and a cheap broccoli!
[STRIKE]8. Eagerly await Tesco vouchers[/STRIKE] £15.00 vouchers arrived today - £6.50 re-issued are still due :j
[STRIKE]9. Eagerly await Tesco response re chicken foetus egg![/STRIKE] Bit annoyed at Mr T for this - they deny any way it was a foetus (I promise it was) - but due to no picture cannot investigate, but are giving me a £5 Money Card thing.
[STRIKE]10. Keep an eye on eBay items[/STRIKE] answered a question about a 2nd item, hopefully that will convert to a bid!!!
That's all folks!
