kevstanley wrote: »Yesterday I had the most brilliant MSE day ever, I think! My elderly neighbour asked me, ages ago, if I would go to the Chelsea Flower Show with her, as her carer (she needed to use a wheelchair for chunks of the day and needed a pusher). So, my ticket was free, we took packed lunches and snacks, and had a lift there and back from friends, who were also going. I spent not a single penny all day. We had a lovely time - very tiring (we left home at 6 a.m.) but worth every minute. I'd never been to the show before, and I could never justify going on our current budget, so I'm really grateful for the opportunity

Good Morning All
Pixie - thanks for starting us off, hope today goes well for you

Morning all. I received some bad news regarding the potential sale of our flat (we're still in negative equity to the tune of £25,000).
Still, onwards and upwards with the debt busting, the sooner we can clear the cards the sooner we can think about saving up a lump sum. Although I'm very sad we can't move sooner than anticipated.
So today brings:- Check banks - done and an extra £37 cleared off CC1.
- Lunch in from home - partially done, needed to pick up some bits on the way in so also not a NSD
- Charge mobile at work
- Sort some items out to ebay - most of the big money things listed but I'll start on the smaller ones, every penny counts even if it's just 99p!

Hi everyone
I'm finding it difficult to do anything today as I'm so nervously nervous about OH's interview at 4pm!!:j:eek::j:eek: He'd be so great at the job so I'm rrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllly hoping this shows through in his interview. I can tell you now though that if he doesn't get it he will be down in the dumps big time. You can tell he's got his heart fully set on it already. Really hoping it works out.
Me:- Walking home and back to work on lunch - forgot lunch and my purse so no choice really! I guess it's free exercise too :T
- Looking for cheap bus/train tickets - to friend's on Sunday and yoga next weekend - cheaper than running a car
- Not getting excited that today is payday  - part of my new plan to save as much as poss of my salary until the 1st of the following month. We'll see how this goes...

That's all for me - keeping it simple!
Stitchy - Yippeeeee!!! I'll get thinking about colours and material in that case! :j
Ziggy - think Karb gets on here depending on shifts and where he is working. Last I heard from Erme she was going back to hospital - hope she's getting the care she needs wherever she is. xx0 -

can I just say, will you please put a bracket into this sentance and point out that people should ask their bosses about charging their phone, most will not object but if you don't ask then it is the same as stealing from the company. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

:hello: Hello all my lovlies!!! I know , I know, Snoop has not been here since Feb!!!
Awww La escocesa!!!!! Thank you so much my lovely for getting in touch with me. That was a very very thoughtful gesture on you behalf. I really put a big smile on my face!! So thank you hun very much for your note.
So whats been happening to Snoop!!:)
Well, needless to say, I had some acute health issues. Needed another assesment from S/S. I fell over twice at home. So now I have safe and sound to keep me safe indoors. My carer and daughter are just fab. To get me out and about I have a new network of people to assist me on going to out. I am holding onto my independance like you would never believe and I will never give up!!!! the fight to do what I can.
I bought some gadgets to help in the kitchen, peelers, kettle tippers, that sort of thing. I am a wiz in the kitchen now!!:rotfl:.
I was due to start another training for a folks who suffer from bullying!! in early May, but due to my mobility couldn't attend, BUT, hey Snoop is going to the next one in June!! with my carer.
It's another great opportunity for me to work at home as I do with the other charity I work for. This time I will be emailing younger folks on how to get ahead in life, using positive life skills and helping them to make SMALL CHANGES!! to get their life back on track. Most of the young people are excluded from mainstream education and many do not have a mentor or someone to guide them. So Snoop is going to be one of those mentors to do just that!!.
I live life one day at a time. Use my limbs and mobility with more care. The only thing that never slows down with me, is my active brain!!:rotfl:
So the small things really do MATTER. emotionally well being is what I am constantly working towards.
Having a disability is just that, as I do so much to keep my mind and support others as much as I can. And guess what I get back? Hope, inspiration, time, faith and a belief that anything is possible to achieve!!
So every day, I plan my day
have lots of people now to help me throughout the day.
Thank everyone for their care and support.
Thank my daughter, and my family for this last month of big changes to my life and health.
Planning a holiday with family and carers. I will get there somehow!!:rotfl:
Continue to volunteer my time.
So for all those who still remember me!! Hello to you all and welcome to all new members.
La escocesa, I hope your well and I will be back another day!!
Once again everyone, take care and keep up the great work. All Small things MATTER!! BIG TIME!!
Love Snoop!!!
