I got tiles today 50% off even though the signs said 30% off:j
The shelves were almost empty though at Prescot.....I wanted to look at the sinks and taps but where all gone:o
Feel so sorry for the staff though - Ive been shopping there for years and they have always been very helpful:(:kisses:0 -
IWhat happened to customer service and a smile??
So sad. When the company shows no loyalty to them, I bet the feeling is 'why should I help customers to make more money for them?'
I know this is frustrating - but it is far worse for the workers. I am surprised that they have not left in droves claiming 'stress'. After all, they would still get sick pay so turning up for work is a bonus to customers who then can get bargains.0 -
But like i said, i'm sure i read in the local paper that staff are being kept on. Tbh, they have never been polite or helpful in our local one (i won't say all the staff as there was one man that actually took me to the item i asked for!) I wouldn't be rude to a stranger in the street just because i was having problems or a bad day.Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok

Thank you for understanding what us the staff are going through0 -
I'm sorry, i know it's sad that they are closing, but ours will be a wickes which will probably keep all the staff on anyway, but i can't believe how rude the workers are being! I went to get a storage box for my son and there weren't any price tickets for it, we found someone down the next aisle and asked how much it was only to be told to either go to the till or look at the price ticket on the shelf (rudely!) We wouldn't have asked if there was a damn ticket!!!! And when we asked the woman at the till how much it was, she just grunted the price at us. What happened to customer service and a smile?? It's not the customer's fault!! Oh, and i see staff have reserved things in store, is this for when the price drops?
If the customers behaved like customers ,they would get the service they deserved, but it a two why thing , and you cant blame us the staff for reserving stuff for when the price drops0 -

Went to the Guiseley branch again today, saw some lines at 50% off now!!
Got some sacks of mastercrete cement, they wer on 40% off (was 30% off yesterday), works out at about £3.50 orso for a 25kg bag. Was quite a few left too.
Spoke to a worker, he said there'd been a delivery today. Could tell too!-was about 6-7 pallates of goods ready to be put on the shelves!
Gona be sad times when it closes though! Hope its gona be bought by another store lyk!0 -
Sorry if I mislead anyone about returns, the sign might have said no refunds! Hubby saw some folk arguing about something they wanted to return the other day too but maybe they wanted their money back.
Got the paint today which was 25% off although it only said 20% off on shelf label - it was crown easy clean stuff that we got.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -

excuse me? were you there? I was polite as i always am seeing as i spent years in retail, i never once took anything out on customers and i find their attitude to customers disgusting. I already said i feel for the staff and that the staff will be kept on - they are not losing their jobs. If they want to be unprofessional then they shouldn't be in retail. When i was involved in a closing down sale, the staff were not allowed to reserve things for when they are cheaper, company policy and the administrators won't be very happy about it.
Just wanted to point out that you can't tarr everyone with the same brush, there are still nice people out there who treat chashiers and shop workers with respect, but as you say, it is a two-way thing!Man who run into airport turn-styles is going to Bangkok
