Went into the Focus store in Bangor. Even with the discount stuff was still more expensive than the likes of B&Q or even Tesco. Focus appears to have failed for the same reason that Woolworths did. It simply didnt move with the market.

Went to No Frills at Darlington today. Most things were 50% off lowest marked price but not a lot of choice left unless you want loft insulation or 'old' style 60W light bulbs.

We needed to refit our utility kitchen and had been looking unsuccessfully for a cheap kitchen on e-bay for weeks.
Picked up 12 Manhattan Units off the shelf at Beccles for £620.00 at the weekend. Beccles had far more kitchen units than nearby in Lowestoft.
We also got 20% then 30% off which works out about 42% off the shelf price.
The kitchens are made by Gower using a different range name. You should be able to source any bits and pieces eg end panels, cornice etc from a Gower stockist.

Finally the staff at Beccles were all really helpful even though none of then will have a job in a few weeks. Good luck to all of them.

Went to our local store at Bridgwater this evening and bought 10 Manhattan kitchen units for £426 which is enough to completely refit our small kitchen. We had 20% off and then 50%. They had had a delivery of kitchen units in today and were busy unpacking them. The two sales assistants we spoke to were very helpful.

Thanks for posting as we would not have gone and had a look otherwise.

Bought new bath shower mixer taps and matching basin taps today at 50% off. Couldn't make matching set at our local store, so called brother 120 miles away who nipped around the corner and found the matching basin taps to our shower mixer! Nothing much else we wanted but noticed a guy called 'Mick' has bought nearly all the display kitchens!
