It was at 50%off plus an extra 20% before the closing down (which equalled the Wickes ordinary prices) , so the current offer is not much better. Still worth shopping around unless you really want their particular styles. Especially since there will be no option to replace or add peices from the same range later ;)

Hi, i got the brunswick range for my mum, was 60% off in the sale range shown as in the sale booklet and we got a 20% off then a furture 30% off so in total got about 13 units side panels and 3 cornice for about under £900

Read somewhere that you have to put your name down if you want the ex display stuff - is that right?

Just been to Sudbury and most of the larger items have 'reserved for/sold to' signs on them so people are buying them.

Went to focus today, Was not impressed with their closing down sales, even OH said the 20% reductions were no different to a B&Q sale. We both opted to go to B&Q, where everything we bought worked out much cheaper than the Focus closing down deals.

We just bought a Polly Playhouse for our little man from Focus today for £109.00. The full price was £249, it had been on sale at £199 and then 30% off on Thursday (£139)when we started thinking about it but yesterday they were down to £109 with only 3 left. We couldn't fit it in our car so went back today with a mate and his van and got the last one which was ex display but still in great condition. Tried to barter them down but as the manager was not in store they wouldn't budge and we didn't want to risk it for the last one. Might be stock at other stores though if anyone wants one.

Cheapest elsewhere on net is about £170 delivered. So we were well pleased. Also bought paint for it but paint generally is not much cheaper than elsewhere. We want some of that Dulux Endurance for our sons room but it is still cheaper in B&Q. Store was really busy this weekend though and lots of stock is now gone. Most of the display sheds had sold stickers on. I was talking to a chap while waiting at customer service who had got a great deal on kitchens and bathrooms for property he was renovating.

Customer service was pretty bad but who can blame them. I waited ages yesterday to speak to someone, lad on till called someone, noone came. Called someone else, they were on lunch. I had to say can you call someone else then? 'I can call the assistant manager if you like?', yes thanks, he will do! He did come but was very rushed although helpful. Today, hubby had to wait ages, one member of staff literally said, 'I don't have time to deal with you, I am not bothered about that!'. If you see a deal and want it you have to persevere. Some staff are still doing their best. You have to feel for them. People don't read the signs, some were trying to take stuff back but the signs say no returns due to being in administration. They were swamped.

Only problem with ex display is we had to dismantle to get it round the back! Still it is done now and back up again :) Looks like rain so painting it later in the week.

I had to return a tin of paint yesterday - as i only needed 1 but bought 2 just incase lol ( and it was £26.00 a tin!) and there was no probs in returning it - as long as you want something to the value of the item your returning - exchanges are fine - just no refunds..

I went to the Shipley store today and got some fence posts...they were the last ones; ok price they were.

Then went to the Guiseley branch and got some good offers there too! Got this cast iron BBQ for about £19 down from about £27 or there abouts. Did have a pic of it to put on here but not working at the moment! Will try tomorrow. Got some other bits too. Never seen the Shipley or Guiseley car park so full before!
