You would need a diagnosis of AD before the AD society could help. Confusion may not necessarily be caused by AD, there may be a number of medical reasons for this. Social services is a much better bet at this stage, they can at least note this lady's vulnerability and route to her GP.
The Alzheimers Society does not need a diagnosis of AD, it helps many people who have the many different types of dementia, and also helps their relatives.

Definitely call social services and give them a detailed report of her behaviour. Sometimes it's reports like this that are what is needed to get someone housed somewhere suitable.

(my gran got like this, and it wasn't until she was hospitalised that they then refused to let her return home due to her confusion, and she was then put into sheltered accommodation)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Have you asked if you can help her because Audrey doesn't live 'here any more'? Or asked who Audrey is?

She may allow you to take her home calmly (and you can grill her about family/friends/helpers) then you will have the info you need without following her sneakily. I understand making her a 'friend' is not what you want but if she is forgettful and confused chances are she won't remember anyway.

Last time she came I asked who Audrey was and she said it was her daughter, and Audrey always wanders off. I did offer to take her home, but when I went to get some shoes on she disappeared. This is the first time I've seen her since then and this time again she just walked off and i kept looking out for her, but it's like she just vanishes into thin air.
she doesn't turn up every day so next time I see her I think I'll have to follow her.
    Thanks though ;)

what is Audrey's last name so you know who she is if you see her? ;) or where she lives so you can take her home!

The lady may give you her surname and be in the phone book or 'known' to authorities!.. might also be worth asking the postie if he knows where she lives.. explain you are concerned about her and if he could help? Worth a try.

I'm getting a little freaked out at a eldery neighbour over the road who keeps coming to our house. She keeps knocking on the door and asking for "Audrey". Obviously Audrey (and I don't know a Audrey) doesn't live here and I have tried to explain it to her, but today she got rather annoyed and said "well Jill said she was here"
Then she reckoned that Jill was next door to me and she was going to tell her off, but there is no Jill. When I explained that to her she got a bit sweary and huffy.

Do you have anyone you cant stand and want to wind up? Would be tempted to give her their address and insist that Audrey lives there now. Tell her that Jill told you :D

Well it didnt make me laugh! my nan used to wander off (Alzhiemers) and for a while was convinced my grandad was still alive and her daughters in school and didnt recognise the grown-up versions. When you have had to deal with this and the even worse symptoms later on - it isnt funny and I honestly considered reporting the post. Its NOT how people normally post here on marraiges (more like down in the Arms), and if it ever becomes the norm up here where sane people post - then I would be finding another forum.
