From the choices you have stated, option 1 for me, I'm not keen on the cushions in option 2.

I have a similar colour scheme, magnolia walls, beige carpets, Egg shell blue goes very well and offers a little more interest.

What are you putting on your bed?

I like the first ones.. the second are too linear and blocky and I really don't like the cushions.

We have two duvet sets, one plain choc brown and the other white as it was from the M&S range of cooler bedding, which i need at the moment.

I prefer the first ones too, especially for a bedroom and with plain bedding.

I'm biased as we just bought the first set of curtains for our living room this past weekend...

White would be far better IMO with a throw at the bottom of the bed to coordinate with the dark band at the top of the curtains in option 1.

Egg shell blue and chocolate brown go very well together:D

Both a bit bland I think. I have a Next bedding set very similar to second set - about 3 years old - and have seen versions in many places since. Has really put me off it so now it is not used!

Have a very minimal bedroom much llike yours at present but planning the polar opposite at the moment with a big feature wallpaper wall and striking curtains - probably in green. Everything else will be neutral though. Different strokes!

Have you had a look at the Dunelm made-to-measure fabrics? Prices are reasonable, fabric choice pretty good and they will be lined. Often have 20-25% off fabric and make up charge. I've got roman blinds at all my windows and have been really pleased with the quality of them. Also there's an express service with less fabric choice but I assume is faster and cheaper. This might be worth a look. They do cushions too with lots of trim options.

You should list it on Ebay if you don't use it, Next bedding generally sells well.

I prefer the first. Like I said we have them in aubergine. My mum liked them so much she got them in red. They have lovely matching cushions and bedding. But I prefer a stronger colour than either of the two options.
