Are you always so rude?? I asked a perfectly simple question! As many train companies cover vast areas. Isn't this site for helping each other not making remarks like that!

i also wanted to know what area's were covered . Can you get discount if travelling ifrom north to south.

Problem is I have to pick up tix @ Victoria???

Can't get there before Sunday ( travel date ) either to pick them up - Or can I pick them up from East Croydon?

i.e do you know if they have the special ticket machines for pre booked tickets??

I might try giving them a ring also to find out the actual times / platform etc from E Croydon

If you have elected to pick them up at Victoria, then you can't get them from E Croydon. However, you can go to Vic at any point before your date of travel and collect them. Tickets are not usually ready on the same day of booking, though, so don't collect until tomorrow at the earliest.

    HTH :)

I don't think she was rude - she simply said 'Southern England', which was a simple and straightforward answer (and accurate!) to your simple question! :) If you go to the website all their routes are there. :)

As for whoever asked about routes elsewhere, yes, you can book trains elsewhere with Southern, and they're MUCH cheaper than other sites. I got a return to Birmingham for £17 in January.

However, this deal is for certain routes, and for single tickets, so you may have to book the journeys separately. (Eg, Brighton to London for 45p, then London to Manchester separately to get the most benefit).

    HTH :)

Last week I managed to pick up tickets from the machine at our local station even though I had chosen East Croydon when buying...

OOOOO This is what I was HOPING for - Assuming it is just one centralised computer system and as long as you have booking ref and card used then shouldn't make a difference???

( Can pop to Clapham High St or Balham now!! :) )

I'm not actually going crazy but was picturing a solution of getting tix from Victoria then my daughter & mates waiting @ ticket barrier on platform @ E.Croydon , me RUNNING out of last carriage with their tix then us all legging it onto the train??? LOL
  • Just realised my above scenario wouldn't work anyway as ticket barrier is UPSTAIRS @ E-Croydon and I couldn't ramp it up the ramp in time! lol ;)

I agree, wouldn't like to have to run up one of those ramps these days!
  • yes I can confirm that you can pick them up from any station with a southern trains ticket machine, I have done loads of times since an out of order machine in portsmouth meant I travelled to southampton on the print out and when I was going to get back through the barrier the guard told me I could just get the tickets from the machine in their foyer.
