Hello! Just thought I would bob in and say hello! Phd Mid-year review over and I survived so am allowed back on here again :D

Been loving reading all your plans and have been doing a bit of planning of my own - made a list of 101 things I want to do in 1001 days, been to a choir taster session and attempting to sort out the garden a bit!

I don't know if you had the same thing but it does worry me a bit but my knitting/cooking/gardening ideas do seem to engage my brain a lot more than my PhD ones!:rotfl:

On that note, it's time to try and sort out a budget for the next few months and make a cake before cracking on with some reading. Procrastinating, moi?:p

    Have a good day!

Oh Cheery you do make me laugh. I think that you should write a book with your adventures in. Still at least you got to see a beach (even though no sea) and a lovely sunset. As for having a sleep in the back of the car............. well why not it must have been the sea air.

Suspect it had more to do wth the ball pit, hula hoop, jumping up and down, and endless cake cherisong! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi cloudatlas! Well done on your mid year review! :T And yes, I did find my brain was FAR more inclined to think about cooking/gardening/housework/baking etc than phd :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Probably why it took me the best part of 7 years... :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow that was a bit of an adventure coming home! Love the fish names.. :rotfl:

I reckon there's a PhD topic in the relative attractiveness of hobbies (and even housework) to studying, especially the increase in the former as assignment deadlines approach... :D

Trouble is, it'd never get done because you could always kid yourself that actually *pursuing* the hobbies was 'research' and therefore 'work' :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    :D

Ok, so I eventually got done the work I needed to do :T :T Toddled off to Slimming World and have put ON half a pound - eek! Although to be fair, that's not altogether surprising... :rotfl:

So, I'm now on the case. I've got 2.5lbs to go til I get my half stone sparkly sticker (it's AlL about the sparkly stickers :j :j) and I'm going to manage that THIS WEEK.

    How?

I shall be planning what I'm going to eat, politely saying no to offered cakes and biscuits if they're not planned in, getting out for a run a couple of times, going on a bike ride at the weekend, dancing my pants off at a wedding on Saturday, and generally eating lots of tasty things and being all active and stuff :D Watch this space - I CAN do it if I put my mind to it! :j :j :j

(although I am off out for a curry tomorrow night :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)

will also fix my foldy bike this week and get back into cycling to work :j :j :j That'll save me the bus fare too, and get me a nice bit of fresh air! :T :T

Just had a lovely soak in the bath and a read of the Slimming World magazine :T :T :T Going to sort out lunch for tomorrow in a minute, then a nice early night :j :j

Amazing what a nice bath can do for a grumpity mood! :T :T :T :T

Yay to sparkly stickers & you can use them to fasten the 'sificates to the fridge :T.

Am to to Rutland Cheery, v early Sat am (6am start!!!!!!) for osprey cruise. May stop in cafe after for some celebratory cake (although breakfast on the boat so maybe there will be some there - cake for breakfast is ok if you're on a boat isn't it :o)
