Lol at all your gin talk!
I LOVE ginRemember tasting it as a teenager (in a park
:rotfl:) and deciding it tasted like paint stripper, and never to drink it again
Not at breakfast time though hey
(at least not unless its in jam.... )0 -
Now then.
Back from all my galivanting, and am exhausted! Still, I've had a good day. Going to do a list cos I can't think enough for coherent sentences
* workshop was part of 18 month plan - keeping my hand in with phd research stuff for potential future options :T
* ticket didn't get checked on the train which means I'll be able to just by a single for work on Monday, saving me about £6 :money:
* friend lent me 'Getting things done' book - quite an interesting read (although not finished yet and I suspect I'm too wedded to daily to do list to abandon it entirely!)
* shiny cleaned and serviced flute is ready - will pick it up tomorrow :j :j :j
* then I can start lessons :j :j also part of 18 month plan :j (need to rejig budget a little for this though...)
* joined local natural history society (again part of 18 month plan - quite a varied plan:rotfl:) all the bumf arrived today :T Gosh they're a busy lot - could be out on field trips every night of the week!
* got volunteer pack for the traditional orchard survey :j so got to read lots about orchards and beetles and then head off on a little adventure:T :T :T (again, part of 18 month plan :T)
* going to local green fair on saturday - somehow got roped into helping out on 2 different stalls - will have to remember to swap heads in between :rotfl: :rotfl: Not been active with either group for a while so hopefully this wil get me chatting and back into it :T
* done really well at workshop today in Advanced Biscuit Avoidance techniques :rotfl: Even managed to sneak a couple of packets home from the buffet - without eating them! And didn't eat any mini danish pastries either! A major achievement! :T
* working at home tomorrow (thank goodness) :rotfl: VERY ready for a day at home! :T
* got appointment for hospital - ALWAYS been on a Friday, and this one's on a Tuesday - when I'm due to be at work. Need to decide if I just cancel work meetings, go to York AFTER hospital (wouldn't get there til about 1pm - almost not worth it - but would get to meetings at least) or try to change hospital appointment and risk it not happening for another few weeks... hmm...
Er, that's it for my waffling for tonight I think! :T Need to do lots more boring stuff like washing and things, but that's not interesting enough to warrant a little bullet starry thing :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Love the stripey list
what alot of action on there - go you!
You've acheived, will as well, alot missus!
I'm glad you're working at home tomorrow! xxxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

So am I :j :j Thanks pippi :T
Sun's shining (always tempted to add 'and we're in an opticians' a la Father Dougal :rotfl: :rotfl:)
Had *slight* incident this morning with lots of SMOKE coming out of the shower...   So might have to resign myself to being showerless for a couple of days while it gets sorted out
So - working at home, washing is on, flute is ready to collect, and everything is all tickety boo (apart from the shower, that is!) A friend bought a house with a HUGE cherry tree in the garden, so we're off cherry picking tonight:j :j :j :j How lovely! :T :T :T

Brilliant action plans in place there Daffs, and very motivated too.
Re the hospital. Are you not entitled to special leave for hospital appoints as part of your sickness absence management system? After all you are getting this thing sorted so that you can avoid being long term ill. You should not cancel the appt in favour of work appointments. If you werent there this time next year nobody will say, remember when Daffs put work before her health - what a great woman. No more likely they will have forgotten in a weeks time. So take heed and look after yourself first. I always say to people. Are you a brain surgeon, a fireman or somebody who saves lives? If not nobody is going to die if you dont do an office appt. What is the very worst thing that will happen if you dont go? And what is the worst that can happen if you dont go to the hospital. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Haven't SEEN flute yet Squizz, so will reserve judgement :rotfl: Bet it looks so clean and shiney I won't be able to bear to touch it
:rotfl:
Thanks cheri - that's exactly what I was thinking this morning. Wasn't thinking of cancelling it, only trying to rearrange for a day when I'd be at home anyway, rather than going to York for half a day. One meeting is very easy to rearrange, and the other is our ordinary monthly team meeting, so I may well just work at home that day (which would suit anyway as my mum is coming that evening ready for graduation the next day - would rather not get home at 7 and have her arrive at 5 past! :rotfl:). Will have a quick chat with boss and rearrange meeting :T0 -
Oh dear, I might have to get polishing mine before next weekDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Gosh, don't start worrying about that too :rotfl: :rotfl: Just cos mine is shiny doesn't mean any better noise is going to come out of it
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Have you got any music??? Was looking through my rather dire collection and not being particularly inspired:rotfl:

Haha - no I'd be better concentrating on practising rather than polishing! :rotfl: I've got a couple of books of duets but looking at it seems quite 'dry' classical stuff. Was thinking of having a little look around online to see if I could download/ print anything a bit more interesting! (although, I have just started doing that and am massively disappointed to find that this isn't available! http://www.flutetunes.com/tunes.php?id=395)Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
