Well, the day didn't go entirely to plan - although it has been very idle! :D

Rang friends to see if they wanted to pop out for brunch, but ended up going to theirs instead, and spent the whole afternoon gossiping, eating, and lying in their attic watching the Golden Compass :T :rotfl: A fab way to spend a soggy afternoon! :T :T :T

Planning being done and acted upon as we speak :D :j :j :j :j

    Morning!

    So - I have been plotting and planning and scheming - I LOVE doing that! :D :j :j :j :j :j :j

So - here's the deal. I have a full time contract at work for the next 18 months - after that I'd love to stay on if possible, but part time. I want a cheery patchwork income- in fact a whole patchwork life :j :j :j So there's things I need to do to get to a point that I might be able to earn an income :T

So I had a bit of a mind mapping session yesterday (after mulling this over for weeks), and came up with 4 areas that I'd like to do something with right now. I might add to them later, we'll see! Mr Daffs is pretty good as personal organisational guru (for other people, rather than himself :rotfl:) so helped with the plotting :D

Anyway, I split each of the 4 themes into 3 areas, then for each of those asked Who? What? Where? Why not? And whether there were any date issues. And then a list of next steps.

I'm not allowed to start making an actual *plan* until I've gathered all the info I need :D

So I've got a folder, and have started gathering info :D I always miss this step out, start planning staight away, missing out the fact that I can't do x by July because y, z and t need to happen first etc etc. Anyway, this isn't *that* organised really :p

I'm not typing my entire list out, I'd be here hours and need to start work! :rotfl: But it is EXTREMELY CHEERY :T :T

Working at home today, but off on a train for an interview this afternoon - then slimming world and swimming lesson this afternoon - let's see if that one gets knocked off the end! :p

    Hi Cheery Daff,

I just thought I would de-lurk and say hello! I've been reading your diary with much interest and recognition as I too would like a patchwork life!:j

I'm in my first year of a phd (currently supposed to be preparing doc for mid-year review - must get off MSE) but have lots of other interests I'd like to pursue. Got to keep ploughing away at the debt before I can explore some of the things but just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration and happy reading!

Looking forward to the 18 month plan as well. I was just wondering if it would be possible to get the link for your blog please?

    Thanks!x

Hi cloudatlas! :T Good luck with your mid year review! :T

(and thanks for posting the link VL - it's my home page if you need to find it again in future!))

Good day, but I'm rather tired and have only just got in. Need to hang the washing up, pop out to get food for tomorrow, pop to Slimming World, and then I'm *meant* to be going to my swimming lesson but since I'm in York tomorrow and Wednesday, and have things planned most evenings this week, I think I might need a rest instead... :o Will see how I feel after food anda sit down! :D

Quite VL! Haven't moved yet - need to get to SW! Going to have to go there first, then the shop (at least it'll stop be buying cake :rotfl:) so swimming lesson will almost certainly be missed sadly... (which will save me £5.50 if nowt else - there's always a bright side :D)

Yes! I always put my swimming money into my savings if I am naughty enough not to go!
