busy day today, took dd to baby & toddler group this morning and went to the gym this evening, so flying was done this afternoon.
can't believe how messy my kitchen was, it took me ages to clean, although I was trying to entertain my 7 month old at the same time!!

Had a shower... There was no way i could sleep with that smell! I'm already bored at the thought of resting till Tuesday and no exercise for a week after that. Need to order books... OH offered to go and get some but I'm not convinced he'll come back with the right kind of thing for resting...
I've got people coming int tomorrow and Thursday ton look at the bathroom and quote for the work, and home visits for reflexology and sports massage on Thursday and Friday. My dad is coming to stay on Thursday, and my brother may come to supper too. OH is supposed to be staying for 48 hours but his ex is told him she needs him to take one of the kids somewhere even though she's known a out this for ages, so he's feeling very conflicted. He doesn't want to let anyone down... But having promised the consultant he'd stay with me, he doesn't feel he can abandon me and although I can get people to come over after work for a few hours I can't think of ask anyone to stay over midweek at such short notice. I hate him being under so much stress, but I really don't want to be on my own tomorrow night having been told categorically that I mustn't be left for 48 hours.0 -
Good to have you back, greenbee, now do as you were told and restcazmanian_minx wrote: »I've got a dentist appointment tomorrow so probably won't get much done - it's only a 20 minute appointment to get my braces checked, but I have to drive 105 miles each way, mostly on single track roads, to get to it!cazmanian_minx wrote: »Kingsmills in Inverness - I'm having Invisalign treatment with them and I've got my 6-monthly hygienist appointment as well.
Well I had better not moan about my dental app tomorrow - just bus into town and back
No treatment either - prob. impressions, but have to leave bottom plate to have extra tooth added and go back to collect on Thurs afternoon - so will not be going out in between:rotfl:froddington wrote: »

[yawns]
Done pretty much beggar all today. Except for getting some Minion-related cpra off the floor and chucking it all away. If there was something she needed in it, she's going to have to climb in the wheelie bin to get it.
Bins emptied.
Floor swept.
Cpra picked up and chucked.
Tea drunk.
Child & splats fed.
Neighbour given her late birthday present - a pot with thyme, scotch bonnet chillies and a tumbler tomato that I've grown. All vaguely useful and chose with the fact she is from Jamaica in mind - she was very happy, so I'm pleased about that
I seem to have agreed with Minion that she can have some friends round on her birthday. After paying out for a bunch of them to go to the cinema, I realised that they would cost an arm and a leg to get a MccyD on top - much cheaper just to provide hotdogs and cake here, especially as it is roughly the same distance to walk here from the cinema as it would be to walk to MccyD's. Can't imagine what it is going to be like with around ten 11 - 12 year olds clumping round the kitchen, garden and upstairs, but it can't be as bad as DD1's 13th birthday, where we fitted approximately 35 people into a two bed flat with no outside access because it was early December and freezing cold.
She WILL be getting that room of hers spotless over the next few days. And I need to work out what the catering arrangements should be with a broken oven. I am thinking of chicken pieces with a curry or jerk marinade, rice, potato salad, plantain, pasta salad and hot dogs. I do have to get some gluten free things, so might use specialist pasta (already been warned of this, not aware of any vegetarians yet, but there's still time for that to crop up), cake and juices/fizz, but not 100% certain on quantities.
Worst thing is that the cinema can't advise film times until the end of this week, so the invites have to say we don't know what time yet, phone us by Wednesday and we can tell you for certain
At least the rest of the house just needs a little sprucing up a couple of days before - just a quick vacuum, declutter my cpra from the living room and some bleach in the bathrooms and it's ready to cook things and leave them in the fridge overnight.
However, the party means I have had to postpone getting carpet laid in the landing and stairs again. Never mind - it isn't winter yet.
Strange - escapee cat is firmly planted on the end of my bed tonight. I wonder why he didn't make a break for it tonight?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
