    Well done Hilstep!

Well I've been food shopping and to the tip. I used my get £4 off £30 spend voucher, but TBH I struggled to spend £30 as something in Tesco are so expensive compared to Aldi/Lidl that it seemed false economy to buy just cos I had the voucher. In the end I stocked up on Napolina tinned tomatoes as they were half price, and big jar of coffee. Also went to Aldi, their Super 6 is good this week - cucumber, radish, toms, beetroot, avocade, spring onions all 39p each.

It's so windy here, almost got blown away!

Saw my neighbour in the car park when I got back. She started the Cambridge diet last weekend and has lost 13lbs in her first week! I'm pleased for her but I couldn't do that, it's just 3 sachets a day of either porridge/soup/shakes. I'm back on Slimming World properly now, been too busy to properly follow it lately but have stocked up on good food now.

Going to make a big salad for lunch and watch the F1.

tab is paid off :) still don't understand how/why it was so cheap! The thread about winter has got me thinking about how i need to prepare myself much better this year so we're not in the same position we were last year.

My plan of attack - we have a spare cupboard in the living room which i can use to store my items, then as and when things are on offer i shall purchase e.g heinz beans are 4 packts 2 for £3.50 at the moment, so that will be 8 tins for the cupboards and i'll probably get 8 tins to see us through the summer too. Then hopefully we will have a winter store cupboard full of essentials for making soups, breads, curries etc etc and we will only need to worry about fresh fruit, veg and meat to keep us going :)

Well done to everyone on their succuss with cakes sales/carboots etc :)

OH is out seeing if he can sell some of the farm machinery we don't really use anymore.

I don't know what else to do with my day now!!

Went to aldi this morning because I needed some gammon that they didn't have on Thursday but had to take it back because it was well ripe yuk.
Got a nice joint in asda in the end. It is boiling away happily and we will have that with a nice mixed leaf salad (iceberg, lolo rosso ( both from the garden) and some baby spinach, jersey royals and a hm coleslaw.

DS is swotting for his chemistry A level tomorrow and DD is at work until 9pm tonight.

We had rain last night as well and it has been raining on and off most of the day and the wind is really howling.
The forcasters are warning of gale force winds tomorrow with a risk of falling branches etc so be careful

Bitsy I am keeping my fingers crossed for Daisy cat and (((((hugs))))) to Mum and Dad they must be devastated x

had a lovely day out with H. Really enjoyed the little Elgar Museum. It was so nice to be able to read the displays, soak up the atmosphere without whinging kids or calling them back, stopping them bickering or touching stuff they shouldn't. Kids still not home so H is starting the ironing and I am updating my Ipod
Having fresh tuna steak with chips and peas for tea <drools> as kids have eating with my mum and dad.

I stupidly forgot about some pine cones I'd picked up on our trip to Spetchley Gardens last weekend, they were all in my waterproof jacket pockets (handy items for Xmas crafts with kids etc). Anyway started taking them out and there were all these little bugs on them, running all over the kitchen work top whilst I did a big girlie scream and dropped everything on the floor. So jacket had to be emptied and is now in the wash to drown any hiding little beggars :o

Enjoy your evening everyone, it's been a glorious sunny day here after a wet start :D

JackieG Took me a while to find as well, as it is an Algerian colloquial name said many different ways!! Managed to find a pic of the mahjoba.

I make it with a filling of onion, garlic, tomato, peppers, harrisa. Chucked in some leeks today and that worked well. The dough is made from semolina flour and just salt and water, then balls of it flattened out with the hands til it is about the size of a swiss roll tin. Filling spread over the middle, then fold over dough and fry on a griddle. It is really delicious.

Hi chums got up at the crack of dawn to go to a boot sale but the rain came down so took my nets down and washed the inside of the windows instead.By the time I had done that the sund came out so I got them onto the line and they blew dry beautifully and my eldest DD has re-hung them for me.
DGS school won 19 out of the 20 go-cart races yesterday at Rochester Airport and the children were told 'its about taking part not winning' DGS Jack more than a bit miffed, still they all got a plastic medal even the ones whose car didn't work for some reason. Obviously children aren't allowed to be competitive anymore.I felt sorry for the children as they had given up their spare time to build the blessed thing and it ran like a dream they even had the fastest lap time.Local Mayor got his face in on it along with the local MP Stunned silence from all the kids not only Jack's school when they didn't get over all winner shield. Its all about politics now not how hard the kids work to achieve something Grr:mad:
Youngest DD found me a coffee pot in a charity shop but no user manual,I looked online and a company on Google wants $32 for a copy The pot only cost a fiver:eek:Has anyone got a Delta CM688 coffee pot instructions that I could have a photocopy of pretty please .$32 is a bit steep for a set of instructione The manufacurer is Seimssen and the product code on the bottom is 7850.It looks pretty good as it has a built in grinder as well.
Well I'm off to have dinner shortly at DDs hope everyone has a good evening
    Cheers JackieO xx
