OS Daily Sunday 22nd May

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 22nd May This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
It rained overnight here which the garden needed, but we have blue sky again now.
Plans today include ironing & making a batch of marmalade.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester, Tootoo and all to follow
Raining here at the moment, yes it is very much needed but if it could stop between 12 and 4pm it would be much appreciated :rotfl:
Been up for a while enjoying the peace and quiet before the kids get up. We are off to Chinatown this afternoon, DD has been working hard at her GCSE's so we thought we would have a nice trip out.
So no cooking for me :j. Think will make some cupcakes, also need to scrape the fat off my chicken stock and get it in the freezer. Must must must menu plan today.
Not much else going on, was good yesterday and caught up with a horrible job in the office, have 2 more to go but am making headway. When they are done I need to declutter & reorganise the office - 15 minutes at a time can't face more than that
Need another cup of coffee now so ofski, have a great Sunday all.x0 -

Morning everyone,
It rained here last night, I was woken up in the middle of the night by it lashing against the window and the curtains blowing about.
Up early to fetch DD2 from her sleepover and then me and the girls are off to church while OH is taking DS on a ju jitsu course.
We will all be back by lunchtime and I am determined to get them all to tidy up the house- it is a terrible mess!
Made a great fruit salad yesterday using 2 melons that I got for 20p each from a box on the floor at the fruit shop, there was nothing wrong with them, or with the 20p box of grapes that the children ate before I had a chance to put them in the fruit salad!
Dinner tonight is roast chicken (and therefore chicken curry tomorrow).
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Grey and very windy here, no rain...yet!
It's triathalon day hereI love watching them swim/run/bike from my flat. It's so exciting. Although last year it was sweltering at this time of the morning, I think they are all freezing today! :rotfl: The first group are just about to start their swim.
OS wise today - WM on, going to do food shop and take recycling to tip, make lunch for tomorrow.
Other plans include looking over my finances and sorting few bits out that I have neglected for last few weeks. I may meet a friend for coffee and catch up later too, but it's not definate yet.
Have a good day all

Monring All.
Wet. Urgh.
Hugs for silvermaid, I have been thinking of you a lot. xx
Bitsy I hope Daisy's doing better this morning, hugs for your wee mum too, she must be heartbroken. x
I am going up stairs in a minute to hopefully finish decorating son number one's roomI am really struggling, my shoulder is so stiff, but its coming along nicely. Had a really busy day yesterday, out and about most of the day, food shopping, fetching and carrying children, collecting birthday presents, delivering them... one of those days where your head doesn't stop all day. Then we went to see Pirates 4 - don't be jealous NPM - which was very good. A bit more grown up I felt, than the previous movies and very long, but good fun and the kids loved it.
Today its my DNiece's 2nd birthday, so we are heading down there for a visit this afternoon. My sister and I chipped in and bought her a gorgeous lamp which looks like a princess castle, she has far too many toys as is it, and we wanted something she could keep. No doubt her mother will pull a face as its just one gift from the two of us, but it is lovely and was far too expensive for one of us to give her. Families, eh?
Need to mealplan today, the food prices are getting a bit scary and I am also jumping back onto the low carb bandwagon this week, so need to be organised for that, it has been letting me down badly.
Anyway, too much chat from me this morning, have good days everyone, hugs spoons and hi fives as required.

Morning all,
Beautiful day here again :j got a wash blowing on the line, and my bedding in the wm, will get dd to strip hers and wash that too.
OH at boot sale, and we might go the the afternoon one later on, still need bits and bobs for my dresser.
DD sat last night and made a head band from an old pair of jeans and backed it with an old head scarf I got for pennies from the bootie, I dont know where she gets the skills from, certainly not mebut bless her, think it was a welcome break from the studying.
We ended up having cheesy nabs last night, so dinner today will be burgers and wedges with peas / sweetcorn.
Thought you might like to see this some people have more money than sense :rotfl:
Have good days all.
Thinking of SM xxxx
Tiredmum, good luck for later on xxx0 -
Morning all!
I shall just wander back in, like I never wandered off.
I hope you are all well.
I must, MUST, get back into the OS ways.
Am making scones later. Some clotted cream "fell" in my trolley at Aldi yesterday.
JG, a lamp will be lovely for you DN. 2 year olds don't need anything. My ds was 2 in April. He has so much stuff I could set up my own toy store!
Am making chicken dinner tonight for the children, I'll have the same minus the meat. The chicken will be quite bouncy as dh is away! :rotfl:
Right, well my breakfast & coffee is finsihed, so I'm off to get dressed & start my day. A bit late, but it's Sunday!
Take care all
