Htc desire hd - batter life issue
Comments
-
I have a Desire HD. According to Androidforums, the unbranded phones got Gingerbread (2.3.3) on 16th May (had to keep checking for updates as the HTC server was overloaded)..then the networks get it next, once they've put their branding on and tested it, etc.
Vodaphone users have Gingerbread already apparently.
Most places will tell you not to bother with task killers, as Android is quite clever at juggling tasks all on it's own. Task killers tend to use more battery!
What I've done is turn the brightness down to an acceptable level, turned on USB debugging (Settings> Applications> Development, USB debugging on), only use Wi-fi when I need it, and turned off "always on mobile data" (Settings> Wireless And Networks> Mobile Networks> Enable Always On Mobile Data. I have Giff Gaff unlimited internet.
Gingerbread is helping with battery life, though it's offering no miracles. I still have to carry my USB cable everywhere, and even have a spare battery in my purse! My Sony Ericsson W995 went for about 3-4 days without a charger!! But as it's a mini-PC (almost), it's to be expected.0 -
