:santa2: Hello!
Firstly ((((Hugs)))) to Moggins, so sorry you had to go through that, some men can say such stupid things at times! no excuse and I am really  on your behalf. He should be so grateful that you are ok and recovering well. Does he know how much he has hurt you? Sometimes they can be quite blind to this! Might be worth letting him know! I hope he makes amends soon.
Reckon it is so quiet on here today cos everyone is reading their Thrifty Ways! We have gone a bit mad and bought a real Christmas tree :j , first time in years and it is now in its stand and settling in the conservatory. I will decorate it soon and take a photo. It smells lovely but the cat doesn't like it!:D I've also bought some cinnamon bundles to put on the tree so it will soon smell even nicer.
We saw Santa :xmassmile today when we stopped for a cuppa and a cake at the garden centre, he was having breakfast with about a dozen children! Everybody even the pensioners and the staff had a smile on their faces! It was lovely!
Todays decoration for day 9 is The Christmas Tree! :j :xmastree: getting all excited now!:o
Catz xOur days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

big hug to moggins x you need to get an apology for that remark
sun shining today, just waiting for ds1 and dil to come up, ds2 and squishy and kyle too, boys are away to a birthday party, got martins book today, looks good and put the tree up this morning as well, will have to write out my cards sometime soon too cant believe christmas is so near
hugs to all xx0 -
Good afternoon everyone. :hello:
Nothing exciting happening here today so far. I spent most of the morning snuggled in bed watching Saturday kitchen with Ds2.
I'm trying my first fastbake loaf in the breadmaker now; according to most people they don't taste as good as the ordinary bread, so we'll see.
Until now Ds2 hasn't had a clue what he wants for Christmas……he's finally settled on a new bike. So this afternoon will be spent trailing around the bike shops to see what they have in his size. Mr Pink wants the two of us to go out for dinner this evening, but I’m not keen.Usually I love going out but for some reason I'm not really in the mood. Maybe I'll feel more like it later.
Moggins, you must have been really hurt by what DH did last night. <<hugs>> I hope you feel better soon.
Amanda and apple_mint, good to see you both posting again.
Taplady, I hope your throat feels better soon.
Ok I'd better make a move….
Have a good Saturday everybody.

Nearly finished my Christmas shopping this morning - only the really difficult "couple who have everything" still to buy for, but they're real foodies, so shouldn't be too hard. Most of it is wrapped & ready to go under the tree, which went up last night. It's only got plain white lights, silver stars & snowflakes on, and looks lovely, even if I do say do myself
My canvas from Australia arrived this morning, and looks as good as I remembered. Now just need to find a picture-framer to stretch it onto a frame for me.
Nels - have a lovely time in Manchester, let us know what the Hilton is like!
Moggins - ((hugs)) how insensitive. At least you have one more breast than he has brain cells
Festive love to everyone else as well :rudolf:0 -
elona wrote:I almost typed something very rude like "pity his brain is as small as his *****!"
Their ***** have to be small - cos what 's the point in having a big one - their brains will only rattle around in it more - let's face it, that's where most men keep them
moggins (((((hugs))))) You fight because YOU want to - and for your kids. Not for an insensitive oaf like him. Way I see it is this .... if he walked out tomorrow, you'd carry on!
BIG kick up the backside for him, from me :cool:0 -
moggins
Once someone puts you down over your appearance - then nothing is ever good enough for them - strangely enough they are never exactly Adonis themselves! lol;)
More than an apology needed - grovelling would not be good enough in my opinion!!!!
Not a violent person but feel quite murderous at the moment!
Would you like a happy band of old stylers to give him a going over with vinegar and a microfibre cloth????
Have just been helping DD (21) shop online for her sisters. Chose some lovely earrings for her two sisters and a really good deal on an mp3 player that also does voice recording and has a tiny screen for video or pictures.
Saved a fortune and also a lot of time and hassle.
Thank heavens for this site!"This site is addictive!"

moggins wrote:Thanks everyone for the hugs, they do mean a lot to me this morning when I am even wondering why I bothered fighting the cancer in the first place.
HUGE hugs, Moggins. :grouphug: I'm afraid I don't know your circumstances, but please, don't ever think like this! Even being able to laugh such a callous remark off shows what a truly amazing, selfless and incredible person you are. If it was me, I'd have knocked him unconscious there and then! Hope you sort things out and feel better asap..
We put our Christmas Tree up yesterday - its surprisingly hard to take a picture of! The nice fellow at Chaplins let us have the one out at the front which had already been trimmed to a perfect shape
Bargains - went to get lights and tinsel from Wilkos, lights were down to £9.99 from £14.99 and the cashier scanned all our tinsel through at 99p (we had a mix, some 99p, some £1.49, some £2.99). we still need a tree topper and presents underneath, but I'm very pleased with it! Oh, and I'm going to put some candy canes, crackers and cinnamon on it as well.
When I've finished tidying, I'll light some candles later and post a nice picture of our flat.
OH is poorly today - not sure what he's got, but he was feeling ill last night and today he's vomited quite a bit. So, I'm playing nursemaid - he's not a very good patient though, won't drink his water! I hope he gets better soon, I hate seeing him ill.
Plans for the rest of today - finish deep cleaning the living room. I'm not going to say anything else, because it'll only be an unrealistic target! I really want to make some Brocolli and Stilton Soup, but am unsure if its wise to use my Kenwood again.
Breakfast: Toast
Lunch: Chicken Satay Wrap
Dinner: Not sure - if OH is better, Greek kebabs, if not, I'll try giving him some plain rice and figure something out for mysef
Have a good day!We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
moggins, i was so sorry to read about what your OH said. I hope you speak to him about it and get it sorted out. my OH was quite shocked when i read it out to him: with both our parents (his mum and dad, my mum) either fighting or having fought cancer, its not something we'd ever be that callous about. *huggggggggssssssss*
the last couple of days have been shopping days and thus terribly busy, hence why i haven't posted on the daily threads for those days... On the plus side, i have got almost *all* the presents sorted now: just got to get stilton, dried apricots, 2 bottles of port and cellophane and i'm done - then its just pulling it all together. Oh and that quilt to make too of course!! Also posted 1 present off (to my great aunt, some rice hand warmers and some lavender smelly bags for her undie drawer, all home made which she will appreciate - we have that kinda family, very OS - for my birthday she sent me a big box of material scraps and reels of cotton etc. for me to use with the machine!) and a card to OH's grandmother, who's birthday it is next week (she's in the netherlands).
did the tree last night, that looks lovely now and i feel much more christmassy! Also did the pigs in blankets this morning (or rather, rolled the bacon around the sausages and popped em in the freezer - so that i can cook them from frozen on xmas morning) and i need to do the one remaining xmas pudding this weekend too. Got rice bags to fill and sew across, lavender bags to prettify, and the .... bloomin quilt that is hanging over me!!! (I'm beginning to wish i never started that one.. it'll be worth it, i keep telling myself but.. arrgh!). might make some mince pies later or tomorrow, from the HM mincemeat in the fridge. cook some, freeze others. see how i get on. I want some time to relax tonight with my favorites NCIS, CSI and L&O.. and pizza!!
hope everyone has a good day!!

Hi Everyone,
Was shocked to hear about Moggins' OH treating her like that. Hope you are feeling better now. Maybe show him this thread, to make him feel like the !!!!!! he's been acting. Good Luck...
Anyhow, had to face going into town this morning, with DS having a bad mood (going through the "NO" phase at mo). Anyhow, managed to pick by a brand new spiderman toy for £2, from the charity shop today (for DS for Xmas). Also have been putting some good quality second hand books up for him as presents from Santa (DS only 3 years old).
Managed to get vaccuming done, and play painting with DS. Off to do shopping now with DH, and later on we are going out for the evening. My mum has offered to have DS overnight (only lives next door...so not far to go in morning). I really think my Mum is a star, and reading some of the threads on MSE I know how lucky I am.
Hope you all have a good weekend...POwieA woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0
