OS Saturday 9th December 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9/12/07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone,

Just a quick one for me as I'm on my way out. Off to Mass. 29_1_4.gif:D
Done heaps of cleaning up the house today with DD helping. By the time I get back she'll have tea organised. Haved baked spuds & some leftovers. DGS has a bit of a cold/cough today I"m told. Might be connected with more teeth.

Hope you all have a great day. Will pop back later. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Haven't been doing much as have been poorly(and broke). Have already got 4 christmas cards EEEK! Fed the cats and the boys are currently tearing arround the garden in the pitch black. Not all of the cats go out and Simon in particular only has a "play out" in the very early morning(long story). The contracts to examine for next years GCSE's came yesterday which is good. DH is currently zoom grooming Lucy and making porridge(hes not mad ken but guess who forgot to buy milk yesterday)this morning whilst I hit Tesco he is doing his regular tutoring slot, has been doing these girls for almost 3years really nice family. Thats why I like being a tutor you get to met such nice people. I hope everyone has a really nice, stress free day. HUGS to everyone that could do with one,get well soon to anyone under the weather, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to anyone thats celebrating. See you later, STAY WARM! Love Annie XXXXXXXXXX

    Morning all :D

In my advent calendar today - a Christmas tree :D

Mr tru is off work today - it's very rare that he has a saturday off. We might go to Ludlow, their Christmas markets are supposed to be brilliant. Or we might stay here and help master tru finish decorating his room, though that'll probably end up with a row so maybe we'll leave him to it

Just found out that the work's Christmas do is next saturday, starting at lunchtime. That's my Christmas decorating day  I have to do it on a saturday, it's the only day of the week that I'm in all day and everyone else is out. I like them all to leave a normal house in the morning and come home to a grotto, if they're around when I decorate it's just not the same :(

I got up early enough to get on here today, Not that there is much to get up for. It's cold and wet outside and still very dark.

I have to work today at 2pm, so there won't be much done before then. By the time you get to the shops and find a parking space it's time to leave again. Thankfully there is not much else to buy:D .

SIL cming in to do the cleaning today but as we have no sink or hob, she should be finished early;) Trying not to panic about it all:eek:

WM was excellent and washed all the clothes well. In total last night it washed 6 shirts, 2 skirts, 2 jumpers, 2 towels, 2 pairs of jeans and 3 tops...and there was space left. Its a 7.5kg one and washed the clothes very well. It runs on cold water only, which apparently most new one do now:confused: ...anyway, Im best pleased with it:D

Tomorrow we are round my Fav SIL/BIL for another anniversary dinner, which inlcudes Roast Lamb....my favourite:j :j :j :j :j ....there quite snobby but I love sitting to the dining table with all the correct cutlery and roll/butter plates etc:p :rotfl:

  • Morning all! DH has gone out, so I'm sat in bed with my cup of tea, catching up on radio I've missed, on Real Player. :j

Busy day today. DS saw England U16 beat Scotland last night, so wasn't in until nearly 11  He has to be at the Sports Hall by 10am for his football party. I need to collect him and 3 friends at 12 and take them to York for their Scout party. They're going go-karting, swimming, and supper. They did some leafleting earlier in the year, which earned them £200, so it's only costing us £5 - bargain :T While he's there, I'm taking DD to collect a pan, DVD and yoghurt maker from Freecycle, then taking her to look at clothes. I'm then having a quick whizz to a friend's new house, then collect DS and his friends to get them home to join the other scouts doing the charity collection at the town's tree light switch on.

We'll pick up a take-away on the way home.

Have a fun Saturday, Penny. x

  • Good morning all, didn't get on yesterday due to group therapy in the morning followed by an afternoon around the shops looking for bits and pieces for Xmas and trying to find a top to wear New Years Eve. Finally found one, it was in the sale and was lovely, got it home to find the ribbon has all come away from the body at the neckline - so that will have to go back on Monday. I liked it a lot but it can't be fixed so it will have to go back.

Going to put the Xmas decs up today. Normally I put them up 22nd but DD3 is off to Qatar to spend Xmas with her Dad so she will be going on 21st so thought it would be nice for her if we did it early. She is only 9 the thought of her travelling all that way on her own is quite worrying.

    Porridge for brekkie.
Brie and bacon in french bread for lunch
and heaven knows what for tea

    Love and hugs to all

  • Morning everyone :santa2:

Managed to put some of the decs up last night so the living room is looking more festive. Just on my way out to buy another couple of garlands and maybe a wreath. My legs still feel weak from my little episode on Thursday but, hey, I am woman, watch me shop!

Jelly I'm sure you will miss DD at Christmas. I hope she has a lovely time in Qatar though. May be just a bit sunnier than here. :D

Well, I'm off. Have a great day everyone.
