Just off to get sticky ...

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 20th May 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

OS has kinda gone to pot this week because I've been back and forward to hospital as my Dad has had a major liver op. Things have gone really well though and a full recovery is now being made.

Both DD's bed wet last night and I'm starting to take it personally - don't know what's going on!! DD1 is every night again now but DD2 is very rarely. We've got another appointment with the specialist in a couple of weeks time.

I've been sticking to eating non-processed, natural. foods and it's really working well and doesn't take that much more time to prepare as I thought it would

My veg/herb patch is looking good and I'm looking forward to a good crop - I've also ordererd a book about making the most of your allotment which will make interesting reading :D

Off to bootcamp this morning and then writing up reports, contacting suppliers and starting business plan for new project

TBH I feel like just collapsing in a heap and not getting out of bed

today :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and sending BIG ((((HUGS)))) to all those who want/need them x

Morning Jet and all who follow :)

DS up at the sparrows fart although to be fair H tried to settle him off to no avail so I've brought both kids down to try and squeeze in another hour or so for H before he has to get up for work.

Nothing exciting going on here, got a few jobs to crack on with, DD is off on a farm trip today with pre school. Really wish I could go with her but if I don't work I don't get paid so will have to miss it :(

Tea should be chicken rice and peas (although I actually use peas as I don't like kidney beans :rotfl:), H might be working tonight so if there is only me eating I might not bother. I have a lonely little leek in the fridge so I might make some soup for lunch today.

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.

    ETA:

Jet - Glad to see your dad is recovering :D Do you think the girls perhaps picked up on a bit of anxiety from you (because of your dad, only nautural) and are showing it this way?? xx

Looks like a nice day here again, good job really as I left my washing out last night, I am keeping dd off today, she has no exams and will spend the day studying at home, two exams every day this week have just been too much for her, roll on next week when all of her exams have finished.

Some of the many meatballs for dinner :D, I will do another wash as well.

Jet, my best friends dd wet the bed up till she was about 14, the specialist gave here some tablets, which she was slowly weaned off,she has been dry for over a year now, hope your dad continues to recover xx

    Have good days all xx

Hugs to Cranky today, I know its a difficult day for you both xx

Morning Jet, Bitsy and Hester and all who cross and follow!

In bed with lappie but have nipped down to put wm on. Today I was awake enough to put the washing liquid in too! Had to wash the duvet last night as well as Dollycat was sick on the bed yesterday evening. Grrr! That's been on the line overnight.

Will get up in a bit because I need to go into work to observe a student and have a professional dialogue but I don't usually work Fridays.

Sunny here today still and rumour has it that it's going to be a warm weekend! No plans yet.

I have some cold chicken from last night's tea so will think of a recipe later-may well be chicken pie!

    Have a good day all.

    Gooe Morning Everyone.
Jet - glad your Dad is progressing well, hope he continues to make a good recovery.
((HUGS)) for Silvermaid - my thoughts are with you.
RR - very stressful time for all concerned, exams. Glad they're nearly over!
Washing nearly ready to go out. Beautiful morning again. DH picked some of the honeysuckle last night - our LR smells lovely!
Need to continue with the sorting /decluttering today, and also complete my Christian Aid collection. It's a real penance for me. Every year I say I won't ever do it again...and here I am doing it again!
Lunch will be left over chicken and salad from last night. Not sure about supper yet.
Tomorrow we are doing a Come and Sing Messiah at church, so a busy day with rehearsals as well, but really looking forward to it. That's in aid of Christian Aid as well, so hope we get a good audience.
DS back on regular 15min. obs again (assume he's giving off self-harm vibes) so can't see him being discharged today.
Ho Hum - better crack on and try to get the ironing basket empy again.
Hope you all have a good Friday. Take care.

Many thanks to you Redruby and to all of you who donate blood :T:T:T As someone who has blood transfusions, Im very appreciative as blood is the true elixir of life. When you receive blood you immediately begin to feel the difference, less breathless and more alive. I go in pale and transparent and come out rosy and glowing xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning Jet and all who follow,

Another beautiful morning here, the sun is shining and it is not too chilly.
Washing is out on the line and kids are off to school with packed lunches.

I made extra wedges at tea last night to take to work for lunch today as a treat but they all got eaten- the joys of teenagers! I will have to make a sandwich.

HM pizzas for tea tonight with "find it in the fridge" toppings.

    Have a good day everyone:)

    Morning All,

It's wet, wet, wet, here. Surprise. :)

I have been thinking about silvermaid and Cranky, {{hugs}} to you both today.

Car is going in for its repairs and to get the MOT completed this morning - the part ended up costing £130 plus VAT :( But hopefully that's that for a few months, although the cambelt is due for a changes soon too :o

Finishing DS1's bedroom today if it kills me, so I will be busy busy!

Have good days all, healing vibes for Jet's dad and all the other poorly friends and relatives. xxx
