It didn't like me!
"Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Could not use ''; file already in use.
/searchResults.asp, line 120"
I'm guessing it's an Easyjet checker, though! LOLA penny saved is a penny gained0 -
Sorry was updating the March data. Try it now.FatCatFares - Cheap flights for all, not just Fat Cats!0

I am surprised that Easyjet don't want to be included.Especially as they are on
another site along with Ryanair et al.It is worth a look as it seems to do what many of you are asking for. eg reverse lookups http://www.whichbudget.com/en
I can't see that the site you mention does anything like what we want from flight checker ... it just seems to list who flies from and to where, not how much the fares are.0 -
MarkyMarkD have you tried https://www.fatcatfares.com ?FatCatFares - Cheap flights for all, not just Fat Cats!0

Hi all, sorry about the constant posts, but I'm just really excited about my new site.
Anyway, if anyone goes to it, can you please send me a message via Contact Us, so that I know how often its getting used. I haven't set up a counter quite just yet.
Cheers all.FatCatFares - Cheap flights for all, not just Fat Cats!0 -

Are you sure what you might be letting yourself in for!!!
You might want to start this as a new thread as I think it could get lost in here.
No airports in the South West ... Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Bournemouth, Southampton to name but a few;) .
Obviously in it's infancy, but some suggestions (Based on a search from London to Barcelona 26th March to 2nd April):- Have the 'Returning On' defaulting to a start date of the 'Flying out on' date + 1 (number of sites that don't do this really bugs me
- List the Airline with a hyperlink to that airlines site.
- Option to Select the required flights ('radio' button)
- Assuming price does not include Taxes etc.
- Grouping Airports, not just the London ones, i.e. South West = Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Bournemouth, Southampton.
- An 'Any' option for Departure i.e. I might know where I want to go but am flexible as to what airport I depart from.
- An 'Any' option for Arrival i.e. I might want to fly from Bristol to anywhere, maybe for a spure-of-the-moment weekend away.
It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!0 -
Thanks a million Grumpy_Old_Duffer. As you pointed out. It is in its infancy. Pet project that I took about 20 hours to bung up. But will definitely take your suggestions in hand. Actually, will undertake some of these by Tuesday. I only work on it during my lunch times you see.
1. This is a great Point. Will have this happening tomorrow.
2. Can't provide link to airline site, too much trouble asking them for permission to provide the link.
3. Won't be allowing flight selection as per point two. But will implement a feature to allow users to save selected flights to a txt travel itinery if it helps?
4. Prices do not inlcude tax. This is stated in About us, but will reiterate it on front page.
5. Grouping of airports is a great idea, will implement this when feasible. I didn't even think of this.
6. Will include any option on other side as well. Thanks (forgot this)
7. Yes, 'Any option' is laready included as 'ALL'
Sorry guys, I am a one man show, but I do strive for excellence, so will be updating things constantly. Features that are missing may start appearing, as I am constantly updating the site.
There was an error in the search algorithm that prevented everything from being displayed. But is now fixed.
Cheers to all who visited the site.FatCatFares - Cheap flights for all, not just Fat Cats!0 -
I emailed to EasyJet with reference to the flight cheker and thought you might like to see their reply - if everyone sent an email I thnk they may change their mind or concede on some points!

Dear Ms Robinson <they couldn't even get my sex right!!>
Thank you for your recent email.
We appreciate you taking the time to contact us with your comments.
However, the reason as to why easyJet did not join
TheMoneySavingExpert.com website is because the information on the
website is *** misleading *** <is it now?? Martin - care to respond?>
as it only shows the fare without the
appropriate taxes and charges. Also, all fares on the website get
updated only once in 24 hours and as you can imagine, our prices
change all the time as our tickets sell, therefore information given
in the morning about fares might not be relevant and correct in the
afternoon. <this is a fair point, if true>
<the complete next paragraph is irrelevant because you use the checker to find best price and can then go to the winning site and book directly!!>
Another benefit of booking directly via https://www.easyjet.com is the
ability to "self manage" any changes to your reservation online, at a
lower administration fee and conserving the internet discounts. If a
booking has not been made directly via our web page, any changes must
be carried out by calling our contact centre and paying the higher
costs involved.
We therefore feel that being part of this website ***would not benefit
our customers*** in any way, as they can find the up-to-date and correct
information directly on our website.
<should their customers not be the judge of this?>
Please note that I have updated our Customer Service Database
regarding this correspondence for our future reference.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us Ms. Robinson. If you
require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us
again, either by phone on 0871 244 2366 (calls cost 10p per minute;
calls from mobiles and other networks may cost more) or via the
contact us section of the easyJet web site. We look forward to
welcoming you on board in the future.
Yours sincerely

Well apart from the defamatory remarks about Martin's website, and the completely inconsiquential bit about booking directly, the only reason they have for not being part of the site is that their prices change many times in a 24hr period - well I would ask in which direction do the change - I would guess that they only ever go up and NOT down, so joining the site would mean that sometimes the price shown would be cheaper than that offered...
So maybe it is the fact that they do not believe their prices are competitive!!
One further point - they say prices on checker are ex- taxes, but aren't the taxes the same with all airlines for a particular airport, or do some airlines charge more tax than others?
Hope it helps,

Any chance of Coventry being included on the Flightchecker?
Also, does anyone have experience of Wizzair, flying from Luton to Budapest, Gdansk, Katowice and Warsaw? They have some really cheap flights, but taxes are about £40 return. Will keep looking though cos partner wants to go to Poland.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
