New FlightChecker

Hi,
Sorry - wanted to create a new thread but I just can't find an icon anywhere to post a new topic!!
I found the new flight checker brilliant. Saved hours compared with last year's hunt for cheap flights to Venice. (Unfortunately I suffered a back injury over Easter and by the time I logged on again all the incredible £1-£5 deals had gone
Anyway, I'm currently looking for cheap flights to Paris in the summer to visit Disneyland and stay at a campsite and some flights (Cardiff and Exeter) still looked fairly good.
However, can anyone explain to me the method of calculating airport taxes etc?
I found a Cardiff flight at £24.99 and by the time I added up return flights for 6 people, the total tax was £170.
I then found an Exeter flight at just £6.49 - and was really pleased, BUT when I added return flights for 6 people, the total tax was £270.
How can the taxes be higher on much lower priced flights? Does this mean they aren't actually "taxes" at all, but hidden charges imposed by the operators?
Thanks

Flightchecker is useless if we need to find a flight home as it only lists UK departures. I paid 74p for a flight to Italy and thought I would try flightchecker for a flight home and to study flightcheckers competance.
Good start Martin but when can we see the other 50% of flights.
ps. In recent months I have seen so-called travel experts on the media telling us how to save on our holidays. Well, either I am the brain of Britain (which I assure you I am not) or these guys are hopeless!!! Compare the prices I paid for my last 3 holidays 2004-5.
Morroco Half-board (HB) 1 week: £85.
Kalimnos (Tiny Greek Isle) £99, HB 1 week &
Taba (Sinai, Egypt) HB Marriot 5 star: £109.
I always meet others who paid this little and sadly always meet others who paid up to 4 times the price. It's not rocket science.0 -
Martin, gis a job!!!!! I have spent 20 yrs avoiding handing over my very hard-earned for my travels and holidays and I am better than the wallys on the telly at getting a bargain. I mean a real bargain, not 5-20% off. I would not consider paying more than 1/3 of the brochure price.0

There are several fares I have found today for 0.01p flying out on a Tuesday and returning a week later. However once again the taxes hike the cost up quite a bit. Like someone else who posted earlier I wonder if EUjet can be included at some stage on the flightchecker - please:).
Ryanair prices are so expensive this year - thought they were supposed to be the cheapest:rolleyes:.0 -
I can't understand the logic in EasyJet's replies to all our emails asking them why they won't allow FlightChecker access to their site.
Skyscanner has access and so does Ufly4less, so why can't 'our' FlightChecker? It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!0 -
Is there any reason Bilbao isn't included in the Flightchecker? Thanks.0

Fantastic site is this - really appreciated. Thank you. Living out in the wilds of Devon, I would like to have seen Plymouth Airport included in your search engine because Air Southwest have some decent deal up and down the UK - perhaps not the rock bottom prices of other airlines but wonderfully helpful if you want to avoid 5/6/7 hour drives to the north. Any chance of Air Southwest joining I wonder?Old sins cast long shadows!0

Will you be including ThomsonFly in the flightchecker? We have just booked tickets to Jersey from Coventry in July for £1.49 each.0
