Looks like this is another victim of the tesco price check change in terms and conditions. Note the absence of meal deals in store deals (it use to be on there).

"Price comparisons for in-store purchases are based on what the customer actually buys and the date of purchase or delivery. This includes price reductions and promotions (such as "half price" and "buy one get one free") but not store or category wide promotions such as “buy 6 bottles of wine and get 5% off” or linksave promotions (such as "buy cheese and get crackers free"). These are excluded as it is difficult to make fair comparisons. Products that are purchased on a "reduced to clear" basis will be compared at the price paid at till."

I thought that was always there? I stand to be corrected though, I didn't memorize it. ;)
You buy Turners at Tesco for £9.99, Asda would have been £4.06; therefore you get a voucher for £5.93. Turners therefore still costs you £4.06 - doesn't matter where you buy it. Not sure where you are getting the £1.87 from?

    Lol.

The £1.87 is the difference between £5.93 and £4.06. I think the poster is thinking you get a £5.93 voucher for purchasing a £4.06 bottle of wine where in actual fact you would have needed to pay £9.99 for it in Tesco (hence the difference back of course.):)

Am i missing something here???? or is it that you spend
£9.99 on the turners wine at tesco
    £4.06 at asda
so make £1.87 from tesco voucher
so each wine is costing £2.19 a bottle

Yep you got that wrong. All you can get back is the difference so there's no profit

So they've removed a legitimate item because it was in the meal deal so can we presume that all other meal deal items will return as N/A (wines & soft drinks). What about items that are part of a multi-buy .... will they remove those as well in due course.

I've wombled a few receipts and surprise surprise, Tesco is generally always cheaper (when it's not we're talking pennies) yet on £100+ shopping bills very little actually compares to Asda. Amazing or expected?

    Then Tesco have deliberately cheated.

They haven't stuck by their own rules, ie not allowed comparison of the meal deal items (in the context of a meal deal purchase) to the same items in Asda.

What they have done is make TR a non valid product for Price Check.
