Think I worked it out , you had the wrong bean salad , should have been the 500gram but you got the 230 gram which is £1.40 cheaper and not in the deal.

ahahahahah! that explains it. thanks so much for figuring that out. also the CS at the self serve where I paid said a few other people had had problems - which tallies with your explanation doesn't it? Well CS desk should have figured that out and got the right one for me. They told me wrong and now I'm sitting here with a sad leftovers omlette rather than a delicious 2 quid feast (that's how i think of it - 2 quid for wine, 2 quid for the food.)

Hopefully CS HQ will come to the same conclusion and a little voucher will be heading my way....

My order (complete with Turner wine) just arrived, but minus the receipt......apparently the printer has broken down and they are going to post them out tomorrow. So, is the price check done on the price when you bought the item or on the price on the day you check it? I am thinking it will just be my luck for Asda to up their price before I can get my receipt!!

AFAIK, price comparisons are done from the time of purchase so you should be ok

I've just spoken to CS at the store. She went off to check the three bean salads on the Meal Deal shelf and came back and said they were all 500g. I asked what price they were ringing up as at the till and she didn't know (and clearly wasn't going to be bothered to find out).Kept insisting it was the wine that was the problem because it wasn't in the Meal Deal cabinet and therefore not part of the deal...

What annoys me about this is the assumption right from the start that the customer has done something wrong rather than the possibility that Tescos have cocked up..also the making up of the rules as they go along..

I give up....

It's defo the bean salad. This happened to us when we bought 3 meal deals (with 6 sides ) Someone must have left one of the smaller ones in the meal deal chiller which I inadvertantly picked up. They just look so similar. Had 2 of the larger ones too. Took CS ages to work out what was wrong - thankfully she said nothing about the fact I have no desserts and Turners. Was hoping for DTD but was told it was my mistake so not elegible

Hi.i have just had a look on Tescos web site and i have noticed it now has the three bean and mint salad as part of the meal deal.Is this new and does it mean they are going to change the food/wine options.

Just had a call from a lovely "dairy manager" from the store who said the wine definitely IS included (really???!) and I must have got the wrong three beaner. Said I should pop in and see him when I was next in and he'd "sort something out for me".

The bean salad is vile - Free or not Free.
