Breeze & Wyles - Anybody used these guys for conveyancing?
Comments
-
I don't doubt that Breeze & Wyles have given some people a good service. See Rasselin's post above. I think it is dependent on whether people choose the free conveyancing offered by the mortgage lender (which is done by volume) or appoint them independently.
If your sister had free conveyancing from them allocated by her mortgage company and was satisfied then I'm glad. She has been luckier than I have. But one good experience does not mean that the people here are liars.
Radio 4 recently did a show focused on piece about 'conveyancing farms' and it was pretty clear that they can be a real problem if the volumes get too high for a team to manage. So I don't think this is a bunch of people visiting a website to cause trouble or "rubbish the competition" but people who are genuinely frustrated and unhappy.0 -
Dear All
I am sorry if you feel that the service you have received from my firm is below that you expected. I take the level of service provided very seriously.
If anyone wishes to raise concerns about how their transactions were handled by my firm please feel free to contact me by e mail at brendan.obrien@breezeandwyles.co.uk quoting your reference so that I can investigate the issues raised and resolve them appropriately with you.

This is hilarious – I love that a director at BW now cares about “clients”. As soon as complaints get mentioned someone who is actually qualified to do the job gets in touch and rushes things along. Surely for the sake of your reputation you should just hire competent people in the first place?
I was assured that my “case handler” had ample experience. In fact over 20 years’ experience. I probed further but no one would actually confirm if she was a qualified solicitor or conveyancer. Turns out she was neither! After a bit of linked in fun, turns out she is a paralegal. I could be a paralegal, I have a law degree after all!
Her incompetence was further highlighted when the vendor’s solicitor called to check the money would be transferred (a day before exchange) and she then realised no she didn’t have the money! This is despite me having called/emailed/left messages with moron case handlers to ask when they want the money…
I of course complained to Nationwide who were pretty rubbish themselves at dealing with this. LMS were helpful and my mortgage advisor was also fantastic. The complaints centre however refused to tell me whether people had previously complained about BW and if they had why were they passed on to me (and others on this thread).
Thankfully this chapter of my life is over BUT I advise anyone who is even thinking about free conveyancing to avoid this option like the plague. It really isn’t worth the hassle or stress and you don’t actually end up saving that much (apart from your sanity).0 -
Hi All,
Finished my application with Nationwide on Friday last week and was assigned these guys to do the conveyancing. Bit scared of the comments above so I'll keep you all updated on how I get on.
So far, so good - received a phone call from them (2 days after Nationwide assigned my case to them) and then a callback to respond to an email within a few hours. Staff member was polite and helpful.
Moving into an empty house and no chain on my side so should be simple...

Has anyone had a similar problem?? My ex husband has engaged the services of the above for a re mortgage to buy me out of the property we both own.
All my legal documents were sent at the beginning of june this year and I had them signed by a solicitor and posted recorded delivery the day after I received them.
Its now 13th August and 3wks over the completion date we were given with still no signs of a payout.
I have made along with my ex husband numerous phone calls to these people to find out what the hold up is as Barclays who are providing my ex with the re mortgage informed him 3wks ago that everything was fine and good to go.
We are getting stalling tactics, they are saying that Barclays have a new system in place and each time these tinpots present a certificate? to Barclays its getting rejected and their having to keep repeating the process?
Not entirely convinced on this I rang Barclays head office and spoke to a re mortgage guy who informed me there was no new system, there was no problem with their system, and this was a straight forward process with no hold ups unless applications were missing info, which they weren.t.
I rang Breezeplus and after getting through the monkeys with no legal experience and having to wait 20mins for said monkeys to answer I managed to speak to one of the case workers representing my ex to inform them that what they had relayed to him the previous night was a total load of crock and that Barclays were amazed and shocked by what I had asked them. I then felt no choice but to threaten to inform legal ombudsman unless they get this sorted pronto..
I was also told by my ex that their service on re mortgage is costing him just short of £3000... seems steep to me..
Are they a legit company? do they stall to get more money..
Anyone with or has gone through similar I could do with your help.. Ive two little kiddies that had their hopes dashed of a holiday.. could do with some advice on what to do
Many thanks

We are also in the process of remortgaging through Breeze Plus and have encountered endless problems which have delayed completion for 2 months. I have made a formal complaint to them and to my mortgage company and if I do not get a satisfactory reponse, I fully intend to refer them to the ombudsman. My priority at the moment though is completion which I am hoping will happen within the next few weeks but I am not holding my breath.
My advice is to avoid Breeze & Wyles/Breeze Plus at all costs if you can. Unfortunately they were appointed by my mortgage company so I had no choice in using them really.
If you do use them and you experience problems, make sure you make a formal complaint and refer it on if you are not satisfied with their response. The more people who complain the better. It is the only thing that may force them to improve their appalling service.0 -
My sister used Breeze & Wyles in Enfield when she bought her flat 2 years ago and they did a great job. No complaints at all. She was very happy with the service.
I really don't believe all the negative posts above, I think for some reason people join this website to be rude about particular companies, they are probably competitors wanting to rubbish the competition.
I'm guessing that you haven't dealt with them then...!?
I'm now 2 months into the process of trying to remortgage and due to their inherent lack of any kind of customer service or communicateion I have flipped to the higher rate on my initial lender and am now £210 out of pocket as a result. Mr O'Brian is receiving an email but I guranatee it wont get a reply or an investigation. All I can do is strongly recomend stearing clear of these people and also steering clear of nationwide as long as they continue using them..!
And yes, I did join just to be rude about them and no I don't work for the competition. I'm just the little man being shat on and told its a nice hat...!!!!0 -
OK, so..
True to his word Mr O'Brian did get invovled after my email and triggered an investiagteion by the Nationwide account manager. They have now admited that "a completion date of the 1st August was most definitely achievable". I have just now received a text saying that completion has taken place (22nd Aug!). They have said they will complete the transfer free of charge as a good will gesture but there is no charge to me anyway as this is the 'free' legal service from Nationwide...!? so where is the goodwill??
Due to the delay I had to pay my original lender at the increased repayment rate on the 9th aug. If they had completed when they said was acheivable i wouldn't have had to part with an additional £205.
I've pointed out that their goodwill gesture is empty and asked where I stand on being reimbursed for the £205.....
I only want to communicate via email with them now as I may look to seek legal advise on my lost money..!
Plus, I still don't have any funds in my account even though I was advised a week ago completion would be yesterday...0 -
I have to say for something which was meant to take 4 - 6 weeks this has been a joke. We are now on month 4! They do not give you clear instructions or advice and leave you to chase things up as oppose to calling to inform you there are any issues. They do everything old school such as sending out letters days later!
No sense of urgency what so ever and the customer service is poor.
We have to chase things all the time to find they have been sitting on something for 3 working days rather than calling us to resolve the problem or instruct us on what to do next! They won't call you and then when you chase them they will simply 'send out a letter'. Really regretting using them but to be fair again we was instructed by a Mortgage broker who was getting a nice fee out of refering us to them no doubt!!
Would not suggest and especially if you are first time buyers or unsure of what the process is as they do not help or explain the process at all!0 -

Seems to me this may be someone from Breeze themselves maybe making this accusation or posting this statement? Isn't nice is it being accused. I can genuinely say teh sevrice I have had from these guys is appauling and slow! Your sister (if she is in fact real) is maybe one of the only very lucky ones who received such a nice smooth service...0
