    1. Wedding date? Tuesday 17th July 2012

    2. Wedding theme or colour scheme? Burgundy with white/ivory, with silver accent.

    3. Thing you have splashed out most on? [COLOR="DarkRed"Still very early days for us. The biggest single purchase has been my fake flowers, spent £56.09. But I over-bought on purpose, I got both ivory and white flowers. Will only use one of them when I've chosen a dress. The others that I don't use I'll sell. The biggest total purchase has been on stationery. I've spent £92.12 on our invites/thank you cards/stamps/writable CDs (for our guests to share any photos they take with us). [/COLOR]

    4. Best bargain? Instead of spending £90-100 on a 6x3 white/cream marquee, in the run up to the Royal Wedding Tescos was selling 3x3 gazebos for £17 each. £34 in total for 6x3!

    5. Stupidest thing you decided that you had to have (before getting engaged) and now dont care about? Mmm I can't think of anything that I originally had my heart set on but have since seen the light. I do have one the other way round though. I was convinced I wouldn't get any flowers - didn't see the point, what a waste of money to get something I'd only be holding for 30 mins or so. But after speaking to the In-Laws-To-Be I (thankfully) changed my mind. Now I'm having a fake flower bouquet that after the ceremony I will then take to place on my grandma's grave.

    6. Venue? Well strictly speaking we're having two. The ceremony on the 17th July 2012 will be at my local registry office. The after show party (aka reception) will be on the Saturday 21st, at our house.

    7. Engagement ring? I don't have one :) I have a 30th birthday ring that means so much to me I didn't (and still don't) see the point in getting another. My 30th Birthday ring (which MrD comissioned for me) is made using the sapphire from my 21st birthday ring (which MrD gave me), and two of the three diamonds from my grandma's engagement ring.

    8. Describe your partner in 5 words. Ooo tough one. Erm... 1) Strong - kinda speaks for itself. He has lovely strong arms that I adore being wrapped around me. 2) Funny - He makes me laugh every day. Corny or what! 3) Sexy - :o 4) Safe - When I'm around him he makes me feel so safe I feel like I can tackle the world. 5) Real. - He tells me when I'm out of order/wrong and keeps me in my place. (In a "you're being unreasonable shurrup" kinda way rather than an "ott controlling" kinda way

9.First Dance song? :T:T Not having one!

    10. Biggest panic moment so far? Writing a cheque for £20 for a deposit on 20 white plastic chairs for our garden party. The panic was along the 'omg it's real' lines mixed with 'what if they aren't the right ones'.

11.Biggest Bride/Groomzilla moment? Trying to negotiate what we'll do after our ceremony - I don't want anything formal, and I want to stay in control so neither family feel hard done by/out done.

    12. Worst fear about the wedding day As daft as it sounds, my biggest fear at the moment is knowing what I do when I get to the registry office. Will there be someone to meet me? Will MrD and our select few immediate family already be in the ceremony room? Or will they catch a glimpse of me. Will they know when to start the song? Lol I am hoping before the day I will actually know the answers to these - I'm a bit of a worry wort when it comes to the unknown and I've never been to a registry office ceremony so I don't know what to expect.

    13. Number of guests? Inviting 17 to the ceremony. And a total of 50 to the After Show Party.

    14. The one person who has helped you more than anyone during the planning Mmm I think my chief-brides-maid-if-I-was-having-one. Not because she's actually done anything, but just because she's listened to me through the whole saga. From when I decided I wanted to get married, through the stage where MrD didn't see the point, then when we finally agreed, and now when I'm gushing/ranting about wedding planning.

    15. Flavour of cake Vanillia 'new york' cheese cake with strawberries etc sliced on top.

    16. Rate your own :money: MSEness out of 10 7. I am spending where I want to - eg my shoes were just shy of £50, so there are areas I could have saved even more money. But then the things we've spend on are things we value. (And I love shoes).

    17. How long will you have been together on your wedding day? Unlucky for some... 13 years to the day. :) Hence why we chose that date.

    18. Favourite TV or Movie wedding? Erm... Well we've just had hollyoaks on and to be honest the way Reece and Jaqui did it seems great to me!

    19. Piece of advice you would give anyone who is planning their wedding Start off by writing a list of all the things you definitely don't want.

    20. Finish this sentence: Marriage is not a word it is a life sentence? Lol. Erm... seriously? Marriage is not a word it is a declaration of love.

    1. Wedding date?
    18th June 2011

    2. Wedding theme or colour scheme?
None - if any, the them is relaxed country wedding. BMs are in floral dresses, men aren't wearing co-ordinating ties, flowers are multicoloured.

    3. Thing you have splashed out most on?
As with most, it's the venue / food.
    Oh, and the honeymoon!

    4. Best bargain?
Favours - seeds with cards from vista print together with some personalised love hearts, comes to about £50 for 150

    5. Stupidest thing you decided that you had to have (before getting engaged) and now dont care about?
I've never really gone wedding fantasy mad, the only thing I originally wanted but am doing without is a harpist

    6. Venue?
It's a farm near Cambridge. They have a summer house set in pretty gardens for outdoor ceremonies, and a beautiful tudor barn for the meal.
It's a working farm too, so almost all of the food will be sourced from the farm. :rotfl:

    7. Engagement ring?
OH picked it - platinum band with a diamond set between two aqumarines (my birth stone)

    8. Describe your partner in 5 words
    My perfect match, nuff said!

    9.First Dance song?
    Together in Electric Dreams

    10. Biggest panic moment so far?
Forgetting to sent the registrar our documents for 6 months, oops! :rotfl:

    11.Biggest Bride/Groomzilla moment?
I'd like to think I've been restrained and fairly chilled out.
The only thing I've been stubborn about is my shoes - but I've tried to avoid discussing them with my Mum / sister as they'll think bright pink isn't very bridal ;)

    12. Worst fear about the wedding day
That it'll rain. I'm really excited about having an outdoor ceremony, so it'd be a shame if it rains. But the barn is the fall back plan, so it'll be fine.

    13. Number of guests?
    140

    14. The one person who has helped you more than anyone during the planning
OH has been great, but we've had loads of support.
Both sets of parents have been so hepful with various aspects.
And my friend who's a dress maker has been great with my dress.

    15. Flavour of cake
    M&S Fruit, sponge & chocolate.

    16. Rate your own :money: MSEness out of 10
6 because of the venue, but everything else has been MSE

    17. How long will you have been together on your wedding day?
I think it's 8 years (and 1 week) - I've lost count of the years!

    18. Favourite TV or Movie wedding?
I really enjoyed the recent Royal Wedding - it was fabulous yet personal in some ways :)

    19. Piece of advice you would give anyone who is planning their wedding
Think long and hard about what you want (eg size, venue, cost etc) before starting to book things as once you start down a certain path it may be tricky & expensive to change.
For example, even though our parents were contributing a lot to the cost, we made it clear that we wanted a lot of our friends there. That way, drawing up the guest list was less stress stressful as we could already say no to long lost aunties.

Previously I thought I should invite everyone and anyone I've ever known, now I know I just want the people who matter there.

    6. Venue?
In Cheshire (halfway between mine and the OH's families)... I haven't told my family what the venue's called yet, but will do around December time when the invites are sent out (a little bit of keeping some things between you and the OH are good)

    7. Engagement ring?
9ct white gold, heart set diamond (the diamond's on top of two hearts) solitaire ring – I love the little details of this ring!

    10. Biggest panic moment so far?

    11. Biggest Bride/Groomzilla moment?
Shouting at my OH cos “he's not bothered and he really doesn't want to marry me, he just feels he should that's why he hasn't done anything” - this was swiftly followed my him writing down a guest list, timings and things he'd like for our wedding

    12. Worst fear about the wedding day
My dad being grumpy and moaning about the food and then not eating anything thus spoiling my day

Vanilla cupcakes and hopefully a round fruit cutting cake

    16. Rate your own :money: MSEness out of 10
Hard to rate atm as we haven't bought THAT much, tho have got my wedding dress cheaper and my friend is making the invitations, OH's parents are helping with suits... I'd say atm 5 out of 10, with the view to improve!

    17. How long will you have been together on your wedding day?

    1. Wedding date? 10th June 2011

    2. Wedding theme or colour scheme? Dove grey and pale yellow

    3. Thing you have splashed out most on? The glass bottomed boat to take us and guests from the ceremony area into town for the reception

    4. Best bargain? My dress - fabric cost £70 (birthday gift from mum so actually cost me nothing) being made by my aunty for free! I've bought her a cath kidston charm bracelet as a thank you, that was about £33

    5. Stupidest thing you decided that you had to have (before getting engaged) and now dont care about? I've gone the other way, before we got engaged i didn't ever want to get married again, or if we did then jsut us plus two witnesses. I've ended up with a wedding abroad with 19 guests.

    6. Venue? St. Paul's Bay, Lindos, Rhodes then dinner afterwards at a greek taverna in Lindos.

    7. Engagement ring? White gold with central Tanzanite and two baguette diamonds on each side of it.

    8. Describe your partner in 5 words: Best friend with sexy bum

9.First Dance song? Don't think we're having one

    10. Biggest panic moment so far? When the foreign and commonwealth office wouldn't sign off my deed poll!

11.Biggest Bride/Groomzilla moment? We had a big fight about invitations and then another about fitting our things in suitcases. We're putting it down to tiredness, work stress, wedding stress and in my case PMT!

    12. Worst fear about the wedding day: H2b not turning up! that would be the worst thing but it's unlikely. Worst genuine likely fear is either arriving late or the dress not fitting or the look not coming together properly.

    13. Number of guests? 19

    14. The one person who has helped you more than anyone during the planning: My h2b

    15. Flavour of cake: We don't choose the cake until we're out there.

    18. Favourite TV or Movie wedding? My big fat greek wedding!

    19. Piece of advice you would give anyone who is planning their wedding: Try to remember why you're doing all this - not for flowers, cake, dreses, shoes etc - but for you and your h2b to be married. This is about your MARRIAGE - not your wedding day - that's just one day in your life. Prioritise on that basis.

Marriage is not a word it is........... For life.

    5. Stupidest thing you decided that you had to have (before getting engaged) and now dont care about?
Hen night. I'd thought about all sorts of stuff - cheerleading, cocktail making, London show etc. But in the end I didn't have time for a hen night and I don't regret not having one.

    6. Venue?
    St Audries Park, Somerset.

    7. Engagement ring?
A beautiful white gold solitaire ring from Samara James

    8. Describe your partner in 5 words
    My best friend and soulmate

    9.First Dance song?
We Have All the Time in the World - Louis Armstrong

    10. Biggest panic moment so far?
Erm, not sure I had one...
Glad we got married in 2009 though as our 1st wedding anniversary saw the UKs first snow and we would not have made it if we'd married in 2010.

    11.Biggest Bride/Groomzilla moment?
Had a big moment when my Mum found FG dresses that weren't my first choice. I told her they'd be fine and apparently I wasn't enthusiastic enough so we had an argument.

    12. Worst fear about the wedding day?
Travel problems for the guests, falling over, crying!

    13. Number of guests?
    64

    14. The one person who has helped you more than anyone during the planning
    My sister

    15. Flavour of cake
2 tiers fruit, 1 tier sponge
My husband loves fruit cake and when we first started talking cake, he said "wouldn't it be great if you could have Xmas cake!!" Haha. My sister designed the cake so it had edible holly and ivy trailing down the tiers.

    16. Rate your own MSEness out of 10
1 - we didn't get into debt or use credit as we had decent savings but we did not try hard enough to cut costs.

    17. How long will you have been together on your wedding day?
    8 years

    18. Favourite TV or Movie wedding?
Chandler and Monica in Friends. But also have a soft spot for Alice and Hugo from the Vicar of Dibley.

    19. Piece of advice you would give anyone who is planning their wedding
Stick with what you like and what reflects you and your OH rather than either trying to be different for the sake of it or having what people think you should have. Also, don't sweat the small stuff, yes favours and chair covers are nice but the bit people will remember is seeing you say your vows or the first dance etc. Take some time out for just you and your husband on the day, it doesn't need to be long. We had maybe 5 minutes straight after the ceremony before the photographers came in and it was lovely.
